Oh well, I hear we're still getting the '37 contract, so that time will count for something, at least.Inverted2 wrote:Yeah, heard Emirates doesn't count CRJ or Embrarer time anymore. I wouldn't want to work over there anyway!

I would rather get laid off than get kicked around from base to base. Especially at the FO salary...

Same here. BTW, what is it on UI, 55% or your salary? Can't remember exactly.qwert wrote:I would rather get laid off than get kicked around from base to base. Especially at the FO salary...

Re: Bid in January!!!
the CRC is still working on it today as far as i know
Re: Bid in January!!!
The CRC have all the info from the company and pilot group to make the adjustments. This will take about 3-4 buisness days... so I suspect they will come out with the bid results at the latest by Friday.... but most likely on Wed or Thursday.
Good luck to all...
I personally bid Dash 8 this time around.... I know I know, what are you thinking
... but being a devil's advocate, I just wanted a rating that will help me out in the market just in case stuff does not work for AC after the olympics and the decide to downsize.
Crazyer stuff has happened in this industry since I have joined and I just wanted to be on the safe side.
Good luck to all...

Re: Bid in January!!!
I suspect, with the nature of our work, if AC does downsize(which is slim to begin with) that it would only mean more flying for us. Just a guess on my part, but thats the way i would bet. Though I suspect things will remain status quo for at least 14 months.Samolin wrote:The CRC have all the info from the company and pilot group to make the adjustments. Re: Bid in January!!!
perhaps but the CPA restricts us to a ratio to AC
i think it is 12 seats for every 100 AC seats

I don't believe there is any such thing in the CPA.
However the collective agreement AC has with ACPA restricts Teir 2 flying (as defined in the CA) to a maximum of 12asm for every 100asm's flown at AC. This restriction is not specifically a restriction on Jazz. It is an overall restriction. If for example GGN or CMA were to acquire Teir 2 flying the total sum of Teir 2 flying can not exceed 12asm's for every 100asm's at mainline.
At the moment it is a total non issue. Your -8 fleet produces a very low asm count because they are slow and small. A large fleet of -8-400's and 705's might push the limits though. Particularly if a present Teir 3 were to pick up some 35 seat flying as a result of a fleet change.
For now though. Total non issue.

Re: Bid in January!!!
Anybody know why its taking so long for the bid to come out? Its Friday now and nothing?
Re: Bid in January!!!
I was told by some MEC folks that it should've been out today. I'm hoping it's delayed for a good reason!

Well, it's out. Any suprises? Lots of YVR reinstatements. I'm sure that August will see expansion of pilots, and we'll all get what we wanted.
Re: Bid in January!!!
This does mean Base or Equipment change for some pilots but they are expected to go back to their preferred base or equipment at the latest May 2011 if nothing else changes between now and then.
Certainly no rumors for any hiring in the near future...
but what do I know... I am just a pilot

who told you that?Samolin wrote:This does mean Base or Equipment change for some pilots but they are expected to go back to their preferred base or equipment at the latest May 2011 if nothing else changes between now and then.
Re: Bid in January!!!
If you have access to the bid that was released today... then you also have access to the "REINSTATEMENT LIST" as well that shows the dates the pilots that were moved from their equipment, to go back to their equipment.
unlike a few on this form.... I don't go by who told me what.... I do my own research...
and if I am wrong.... please do correct me..

Re: Bid in January!!!
reinstatement doesn't mean you will be reinstated
those dates are just how long your reinstatement rights last. they are not a guarantee that you will be reinstated in that time.
my reinstatement rights expire january 31st, 2011

Re: Bid in January!!!
Quite right Mattedfred.
There are many with reinstatement rights that will expire if they don't get their base or equipment back in the July bid.

Quick question. Is your reinstatement date the effective date or the date of your line check?

Re: Bid in January!!!
Thanks. I've heard both, the effective date and the line check date. I think I read in the CBA about it being one's line check date.
