job security
As a pilot does it even exist? I see some resumes in the hire me section where people have thousands of hours and are still looking for a job. Is this a typical pilot life outside of the majors such as AC and WJ to keep looking for a job. or are pilots just never satisfied?

In this economy, to save your sanity, I'd say never PLAN on working ANYWHERE for more than 5 years. (that's for EVERY job, not just flying)
I'm sure there are stats to back this up, but I'm just using fuzzy logic here.
Everyone cuts back or gets bought out or both. Government, private sector, everyone!
I personally am investing in cheap vacations and beer- something I can remember fondly as the minimum wage RNA changes my diaper as I rot in the government group home when I'm older.

If you can deal with moving every 3-4 years, flying anything from a 40 year old Buffalo to shiney J-Herc and anything in between - my job has pretty good security. Would I like to go and fly the big iron? Still debatable... I am making six figures and flying a King Air 90! Home everynight with no pressure to fly.
Is this a sales pitch - your darned right. We're hiring still - it may not be for Pilot all the time, but we have hundreds of other jobs available - all of them enjoy the same job security.
