Why do Pilots swim in Circles.
Their watches pull them down on one side.

Once again, to each (generation) their own. I'd take a 996 anydayDoc wrote:I find the Cayenne to be a really UGLY car! If you are going to buy a Porsche, it just HAS to be a 911! I owned a 912 back in the day. Always wanted a royal blue, late 60's, 911. Esthetically, that's the most attractive Porsche ever built! Then of course, there was the XKE of the same vintage. Today, my dream car has to be the Lotus Elise, in BRG. For your dollar, that's a pretty good buy!ETOPS wrote: Your strike me like a guy who'd argue the practicality of a 911 GT2.
-I'd rather get the Cayenne because it has more cargo and seating capacity and I can drive it in the winter and over speed bumps. Plus its not like I can do 200mph anyway. I got a plane for that.
Anyway, enjoy you Breitling!

Better viewed full screen, with headphones, and a glass of vodka in hand. Enjoy

Re: Breitling Watch
Have they upgraded the Emergency to 406 MHz?

This is my watch. Bought it in '04 'cause I needed a watch for commercial flying and I had no money. Haven't changed the battery since new, haven't set the time in two years (about 1 min off from computer/cell/gps), and it has been lost, submerged in 5606, drenched in W100, and bashed with God knows what. Best $50 I ever spent, and it has UTC at the touch of a button.

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

Re: Breitling Watch
They are nice, most use a Valjoux 7750ish movement. Tell you sister to get you a Omega Speedmaster instead, same chrono, more timeless, better as time goes on, also they are the only NASA space watch and the watch that was worn on the moon

Re: Breitling Watch
I really like the Speedmaster, in automatic. Or the Seamaster. We are currently having the same debate.
Funny thing, I just got a new dive watch in the mail from an online camera store in New York. I bought a Sigma 10-20 from them a couple of months ago, and got the watch in the monthly draw! It's a Citizen Eco-Drive, good to 300 metres! It's one slick looking watch. I'll spring a leak before it does.

Re: Breitling Watch
Deatest neanderthal men.
I find it curious why some men brag about being a simple no-nonsense rough around the edges mans man when they offer up some heroic tales of their plastic, decrepit watch that is older than ancient Sumerian cuneiform clay texts AND repeating some "play it again" war story about how "their" watch survived some catastrophic cosmic event and out lived the tyrannosaurus and managed to still not need a battery change ever since Heaven sent doves to wrap it around their wrist.
Bragging about your old plastic watch (in public) is like bragging about the underwear you still have AND wear since 1994.
Bragging about your Jurassic Dollar Store time peice is like bragging about the dirt under your nails @ a dinner party and you're the host that just prepared everyones meal.
Perception gets you past the front door. Attitude is what keeps you there. (and a good watch)

An Omega Chronograph will cost you $600 to overhaul, in about 5 years time. Ask me how I know. Keep the Citizen!

Re: Breitling Watch
Here is an interesting discovery.
I have my Breitling stored in a safe dry place as I have not worn the thing since I flew in my last air show in 2005.
Went and took it out yesterday just to have a look at it....the fuc.ing thing will not start running no matter what I do with it.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Re: Breitling Watch
try using the crown to advance the hands (lightly) if that is jammed up you have real problems. Is it an inertia drive or battery? If the latter the answer is obvious if the former a trip to service is in need.
