What next for J.Go drivers?
Do you think anyone would be held back (ie intentionally not hired) because they came from JGo? Or is the allure of an experienced jet guy at all costs just too much to pass up...especially in the state of the industry right now

I am not sure what the underlying message is in your post Twin Prats... May there isn't one... It almost sounds like you are saying they should not be considered when you put it that way.... "the allure ... too much to pass up". As if there is some moral wrongness to it. Maybe you do not mean it in this way, I hope not.
I only know some of the JetsGo People. The ones I know generally are very experienced people with previous Jet experience prior to JetsGo, Canada 3000, Royal and even Nation Air for some...
I only hope that the growth this year with WestJet and AirCanada amoungst others will allow all of the guys to be absorbed back into the industry.
It is unfortuneate that once again there are a flood of guys back on the job market.... but at least the numbers are only about half of what Canada 3000 made redundant. So I would hope that it will not take as long.
No doubt for some this might be the end of a career in aviation for awhile. I personaly know of some from the Canada3000 shutdown who have as yet to find a place back in the industry. It is a shame and has had a terrible effect on families.
I am sure you did not mean it in a negative way to the individuals, but you maybe right when you say that they will be good candidates for other jobs.... but not necessarily. Sometimes employers see an experienced guy as a risk for moving on when something better comes along. Having Jet experience or not having Jet experience does not always matter. When I was hired at WestJet I had many class mates without prior jet experience. So experience on Jet equipment is not an automatic ticket to a job. We all find ourselves equally disadvantaged when you work for a company that goes bankrupt. There are no guarantees.
I heard it said a long time ago.... "Be good to people on the way up... because you meet them again on the way down." I have found this to be oh so very true.
I have heard another one that I will share.... "Be careful whose toes you step on..... may be attached to the ass you might need to kiss later." Yes indeed it is a small industry.
Cheers!

I often wonder about that. Does that mean, that all or most of the guys, who were in the pool previously, are now going to be bumped off, in favour of guys with higher time and jet experience?

I'm sure most of them would go back too. They already have money invested, so it would be worth their while. But for new hires, I suspect they will think twice before going through the trouble of finding 30 G's to pay Leblanc. Like I said before, I truly hope that SOB will get what's coming to him one day.
