What is your background that you have such a hate on for the police? It is starting to seem like an unhealthy obsession.

I wonder who cpl_atc calls when his house is being broken into?
Or does he call no one out of principle?

not like they bother to show up for property crime anyways.I wonder who cpl_atc calls when his house is being broken into?

Nobody here has a problem with the fact that they simply waited out the time period required?... doesn't it seem a little unfair that when it comes to investigating officers they can simply choose to ignore it until their hands are tied by a timeline.. don't you think average canadians should be treated in the same manner? Doesn't it bother anyone here that there is no next step to take this to? Doesn't it at least appear as if they simply waited in order to protect their own?
but no.. CPL_ATC is the problem.. the police are beyond refute.

Re: Sorry, we forgot to investigate on time
There is nothing wrong with being angry at the police for stuff like this.
However, most of us have not seen him post anything not related to the police in a long long time.
This is not the forum for a police witch hunt, which seems to be his primary interest. Perhaps he would find http://forums.blueline.ca more geared towards his passion.

I don't think anyone here (except maybe Nark) view the police as beyond refute. CPL_ATC just seems to subscribe to the idea that the police are a force of pure evil while most of us figure every organization has bad apples and good apples (even Cat admits TC has a few good men) I'm really curious as to what set CPL_ATC on this vendetta. Did they pour out his beer during the Olympics?

Exactly. How many reports about aviation get picked a part here but as soon as it's about the police or military or government it all of a sudden becomes 100% true.piston wrote:He's posting reports from media outlets, which in general are 50% truth.Cat Driver wrote:I usually do not get into these pissing matches but I have a question.

Maybe this will make cpl_atc feel better... it's in the States, but at least this cop got 18 months for his actions. How much he'll actually serve is another question.

On this topic, absolute bunch of BS... knowing some of the people that I grew up with who are now police officers... scary, but knowing they can get away with murder is downright frightening. Sure, there are good cops too, but shouldn't they all be good cops.

Just as they should all be good pilots. Unfortunately that is impossible. I think we should look at our own industry before slinging crap at other industries.Just another canuck wrote:shouldn't they all be good cops.

Re: Sorry, we forgot to investigate on time
The difference is that even the shitty pilots usually have good intentions... they didn't mean to forget to put the gear down. I believe that a large percentage of police officers have chosen their profession so they can be legal criminals... think about it. Every cop I know, even the good ones, went into their field so they can bust heads, not to make their community or society a better place. Then there's the few that really did go into to fight the war on drugs or stop murderers... reasons, I'm sure, may vary. Then, lastly, there's the ones that went into the police force so they can be above the law... which they are, as it is so obviously documented in cases like this. And don't fool yourself... these types of police officers are NOT few and far between... they are just as common as the ones who are there to really help. All in my very humble opinion of course...Dust Devil wrote:Just as they should all be good pilots. Unfortunately that is impossible. Thank GOD not all traffic controllers are like this...........
Re: Sorry, we forgot to investigate on time
The media only provides a superficial look at single events and are always manipulating public opinion, or being manipulated to manipulate public opinion. Why do you think there has been an increase in reports of police use of force? Do you think these incidents are happening more frequently, or is it just that the media is reporting these types of allegations more frequently? I suggest it is the later, and the reason they're doing it is because you have special interest groups pushing the issue and manipulating the media.
Likewise, the police also routinely manipulate the media, especially when they are looking for money from the politicians for new projects, increased hiring, new technology, or new legislation dealing with a certain type of ciminal activity. For example, if they want a new helicopter, you can bet they will be putting out a steady stream of media releases about high speed car chases. The media will be duped into creating a "crime wave" for which a new helicopter will be the solution. Public pressure will mount for the politicians to provide the helo before a car load of mothers and children are killed by a crazed car thief running from the law.
Anyone who thinks the media provides an unbiased representation of anything going on in their community, the country or world is sorely mistaken. Anyone who forms dogmatic opinions about an entire profession or organization based on media reports needs a hockey helmut and pass for the short bus.
Canadian police make stops, detain, and arrest people millions of times every year. If they were as out of control as some seem to believe, I would expect every city's newspaper could fill its pages cover to cover with different stories of police abuse. But you know what? They can't, because in reality police use of excessive force is not at all commonplace.

Re: Sorry, we forgot to investigate on time
Niss, what the hell are you doing complaining about CPL's posts when most of what you post is absolute shit. You just started another "kill this post" thread. CPL at least he's addressing something real. One of the longest threads on here was " the person below me". CPL is one of the few people willing to add real content to this forum, whereas most people on here act like high school children. Particularly Niss. Whether you do agree with CPL or don't, at least he's trying to generate a discussion about something that matters.
Re: Sorry, we forgot to investigate on time
You're absolutely right I am grasping at straws.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... River.html
I personally have nothing (yet) against the police or the RCMP nor do I have anything against air traffic controllers.
Mostly because my life (and I suppose others as well) depends on it.
You can pick any profession and find flaws with it. You happen to have an issue with the RCMP (police) and as long as you post in this fashion then I'll have to keep grasping at straws.
Like I said people in glass houses.......bla bla....

http://joesharkeyat.blogspot.com/2008/1 ... ed-by.htmlsaid in a statement that it supports a full investigation of the allegations 'before there is a rush to judgment'
Well maybe it was the air traffic controllers and maybe it wasn't.the American pilots were largely to blame for the crash.
