IATRA... RECENT... Anyone write one?

Anyone recently write the IATRA? I know there are some old hints, but I dunno if there may be new questions that have been put out?

Easiest exam so far, I thought anyway. Just work through the study guide on the TC website and make sure you have a tick for each topic (there's not many of them). Although didn't have a clue about calculating CP/PNR formula!

This might sound totally stupid, but what exactly is the point of it? I've always thought it was "so you can fly as a First Officer without an ATPL in a plane that has a minimum crew requirement of 2 people" but, for some reason, it says "type rating" on the sheet, and the people at the Transport Canada desk said it had nothing to do with that-that it was a type rating exam...type rating for what???

(a) Aeroplane - Two Crew

(i) Knowledge

An applicant for an individual aircraft type rating for aeroplanes with a minimum flight crew requirement of at least two pilots shall have completed a program of ground school instruction and flight training on the aeroplane type, and

Private Pilot Licence - Aeroplane or Commercial Pilot Licence-Aeroplane

(A) in the case of the holder of a Private Pilot Licence-Aeroplane or Commercial Pilot Licence-Aeroplane, within the 24 months preceding the application for the first endorsement of the two crew rating, an applicant shall have obtained a minimum score of 70 percent (70%) on the Type Rating-Aeroplane (IATRA) written examination;

Airline Transport Pilot Licence - Aeroplane

The IATRA is required to receive a type rating for an aircraft with a minimum crew requirement of 2. If the aircraft manufacturer requires two pilots in its type certificate. In Canada, it will require a type rating. The IATRA is required before receiving that type rating.

You need the IATRA done before even working the ramp at some companies (CMA for example). May as well get it done for $30 just for the sake of it!

Looking at the various threads on here after recently writing the IATRA, I can say the info people have posted on here seems pretty similar to what I actually got on the test. That, combined with a couple of days with some ATPL prep books and the test should be no problem.

Completely agree. Just did it on Friday, half of the questions were posted here. One of the easiest exams ever, well for me all of them were pretty easy. I think on any TC exam, if you can think logically you can get 50% of questions right.
