The kid is a dumbass. If this happened in an intersection, nobody would have blamed the cops.

Do you really have no life?

Finally, you posted a thread where you show the RCMP actually screwing up. They should have ran that truck right over top of the guy instead of just hitting him. They would have saved themselves the foot pursuit.

By clicking on a person's username then selecting "add foe" you effectively filter out the person's posts from this site and never have to read them.

Giddy up Piston giddy up. You hit the nail on the head.

cpl_atc, I have no idea why you are such a cop hater but why don't you start a forum that bashes all police forces and get the hell off this AVIATION SITE.

I'm not defending cpl_atc but this section has nothing to do with aviation. If this was dedicated solely to aviation we wouldn't have the likes of half our "special" posters, me being one of them.

I know this section is un-aviation related. Difference between you, Nark, and cpl_atc, I like what you post.

Was that a Toyota?

Why would the RCMP do that to an obviously innocent man?

I'm gonna give the Five-'O the benefit of the doubt here and say that quad was reported stolen - Or they wanted the kid for something else. This wasn't just a case of "Oh we've got to round up them kids driven' their four wheelers on the streets."

This video is really hard to watch.....

Open this video in another window and have it play in the background while you watch cpl_atc's video.

This makes it much better.

cpl_atc, keep posting those links... I usually enjoy them. This one... not so much. I'll give the cops the benefit of the doubt too and assume that kid either stole that ATV or was wanted on some other charges.

piston, you complain about what cpl_atc posts, yet you have so few posts and most of them are attacks on cpl_atc or some other poster... no real contribution either. Take Wilbur for example... he's obviously on the other side of the coin involving this debate... but at least he posts facts and real arguments as opposed to pointless insults or requests to leave the forum. Sheesh.

I was always told that Howard Stern had twice as many listeners that hated him than ones that liked him and that trend is continuing right here on this message board. If you don't like the poster, don't click the link... or click the link and post something. I don't give a shit... but I gotta tell you, the posts attacking cpl_atc are far more childish and annoying than any of his initial posts. Just saying... think about it.

Cheers all.

If that were me on the ATV, I would have seen the cop, then not gunned it because I might get hit.

After being hit, I'd be like, "Woah man! What's going on?" If they started screaming, "On the ground, on the ground!" I'd get on the ground and say, "Woah man! What's going on? What did I do?"

That's what an innocent person would do, IMHO.

But on the bright side, his girlfriend made it to work on time! :smt023

That is a little extreme, I would be less objectionable if he was in a car or something with a little more metal between the operator and the police truck. If you (the average joe) were to react in this fashion you would be going to jail no matter how much that guy did to you or your property.

He saw them coming and floored it, driving right in front of the cops. What did he think would happen?

Dont know if he was wanted for something, but he didnt really seem to be in too much of a hurry when it dropped his pax off??

If I was doing nothing wrong and a cop hit me like that, I think the that situation would have been allot worse as I would pulled that cop out the window.

They didn't ram him, idiot...the moron on the ATV took off without paying attention. The officers didn't go after him like a criminal until he acted like a criminal and ran from the scene of a collision. If the guy didn't run, it would have been just another collision with the ATV driver at fault.

By the way, you'd have a little bit more credibility posting your anti RCMP garbage on here if you just came out and explained why you have a beef with them.

It's pretty clear that they wanted to stop him. What I don't agree with is the use of force with no obvious danger to the members or public.

It's a little shocking to see a truck ramming an ATV. Does the risk outweigh the benefit? They could have killed the ATV rider. Where does this fall in the use of force continuum? Seems like they jumped straight to "DEADLY FORCE", or am I missing part of the story?

They didn't ram him...if they were going to ram him, they would have driven directly towards him as they entered the parking lot. They were halfway across the lot as the guy took off on his ATV, and the ATV was far to their right. They were just cutting through the lot.

And you're think you're a step above that? You're a coward who bashes the RCMP for no apparent reason and you have the balls (and I use that term lightly) to call someone else a coward? You're nothing but a useless armchair critic. You have an opinion, and that's it. If you think they're doing so bad, go talk to your MP or better yet, run for an MP position. Stop sitting around posting this garbage and do something about it. Give yourself some credibility for once in your life.

In defense of the two RCMP maybe they were told the guy was armed with a stapler and they were two members short to try to arrest him outside of their vehicle?

God forbid I ever am driving anywhere near you! THEY RAMMED HIM, THEY ALMOST ROLLED THAT ATV

Ram: strike or drive against with a heavy impact

I really dont care about the RCMP one way or another, so I am not pro or con, that being said unless he was wanted on some SERIOUS charge (murder, rape, armed robbery, etc) I would be ashamed to call myself a RCMP after seeing that if I were one them.
