Apparently, yes.
Everything comes in threes....

Who got bought?
You can interpret that however you would like.
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
Hawkair.
CMA wanted some more 705 machines. Guess they got dash8s instead of Dorniers.

Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
Interesting very interesting. I wonder what this means for Hawkair's routes which are in direct competition with Air Canada...?
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
Are there any routes CMA and Hawkair compete head to head against?

Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
No... they don't compete against each other on any routes, although they serve the same destinations: Hawkair serves Terrace and Smithers from YVR and CMA serves both places from Prince George. This will be a growth move for CMA.. I think they were just looking for a quick way to acquire Dash-8s and this was probably the cheapest.
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
There goes the pay scale!! Yikes! Cap out at $62,000. Regardless I really hope Hawkair survives! It was started as a low cost carrier to serve Terrace, Prince Rupert and Smithers. Jazz was gouging the ppl there and Hawkair made a big difference. Wishing all the best to Hawkair!!!!
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
Actually, I believe it was started hauling ore out of the mine at Bronson Creek with a Bristol Freighter and later a Carvair.100_above wrote: It was started as a low cost carrier to serve Terrace, Prince Rupert and Smithers. HS-748 2A: Your right! I guess I was referring to the passenger service that they got into in 2000. I will try to be more clear next time.
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
They could have really made 'bank per ton-mile hauling people in the Carvair.

Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
It's just CMA's and NTAir's parent company that bought out the shares, not CMA as a company. They will still be operated, just like NTAir, with their own name, management and staff (and payscale I'm sure). No changes in the near future, and I'm sure the purchase will be mutually beneficial.
Re: Central Hawk Mountain Air?
So I take it, that this means HawkAir will be merged with CMA? Like Canadian was with Air Canada.
