$450 a month for me, after my share oh DSL and phone. On the plus side, I live in a really choice part of town, and only have to share with 1 flatmate - he owns the condo. Given our respective schedules, we see each other about twice a month!

I've heard of people in Thompson paying more for Hydro in the winter then for their rent. It's tough to stay warm when mother nature is resolved to see you freeze.
Rent upstairs of a house in calgary with two roomies. 275+util. I have the really small room though.
As for Guido...Growing up my mom was very thrifty (read cheap) So I can say that weather stripping can be your best friend. Even the smallest draft counts. They have things(or you could use a blanket) that lay at the crack at the bottom of your door. Also, if you don't mind not having use of your windows, you could use that plastic-y hair dryer stuff. While it looks ghetto, it does help. Oh, and a humidifier could help you out as well.
