If your paper work is too neat and too many i's are dotted and too many t's are crossed then "the man" tends to dig even deeper. That's when he finds that theres no way that all thees t's could be crossed or all thees i's could be dotted.....
Yes, when paper work is just to perfect one may begin to wonder why.
The bottom line is really quite simple, aviation is not something that is performed in a dark cave in secret, if corners are being cut or outright illegal practices are part of a company operation someone must be aware of the problem long before it becomes a total disaster.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
A question for all of you. If Skyward feels as though they are getting screwed over, could they even attempt to sue Transport to recoup some of their loses??
you asked if I know Skyward AME's
lets see-2 who recently left wouldn't have their papers if it wasn't for skyward-one hasn't quit though he would like everyone to think he has
1 worked for Skyward went to another airline, is back at Skyward
1 was out to school recently
think thats a pretty good I been in the community a long time and know these people for years

Hey, if Keystone can sue for their thing anythings fair game.
Here we go again. I'll get into it with you as usual, since half of the readers hold you on your almighty pedestal and are afraid you might fall off and break.
You bitch about TC's mandate, employees, managers etc. What do you suggest they do? There is only so much money to police this industry. After ramp checks, ride alongs, audits etc, there isn't much left in the coffers. Yeah, I'm sure they waste millions like every other federally run department. What would you suggest? They couldn't possibly monitor and regulate every air operator with any sort of practical approach. Think about it, paperwork, interviews, spot checks, CARS compliance...these are pretty much the only way that TC can attempt to regulate the industry. Yeah it's BS when a company like Ke--tone kills people because of negligence. Other competitors see how they operate, and nothing but the paperwork changes after they are shut down. They reopen, get SMS and call themselves the gurus of aviation! Paperwork doesn't make a company... I'll agree, but it's a good start. Companies who care about their OC and their future keep their paperwork and Operations in order.
CAT, it's simple. If you think TC is so bad, it's time for you to step up to the plate and enlighten all of us with your superior ideas!
I can not outline all the problems in TC, however may I suggest that you find some means of actually getting to interact directly one on one with the powerbrokers ( upper management ) that actually make policy decisions in TC and then you will not need to constantly defend something you have very little understanding of.
What you seem to think regarding TC and the actual function and daily operations of said regulation body is rather blurred judging by your simplistic view of these matters.
Anyhow, its your problem not mine as I no longer have any need to deal with them.

You think so Trowl? Are you behind the scenes on it all? Whos eyes are you looking through? It has been over 50 days. How long was Keystone shut down for? Not nearly as long as Skyward even though they are responsible for the death of another human being.
Timetogo, I don't see the relationship between fatalities and length of time to be shut down as relevant.
Keystone operated a much smaller fleet, as well as only 4 types of airplanes. Surely Skyward's smorgasbord of a fleet has been an issue as well as many airplanes are based all over the place. I am not sure where all of Skyward's airplanes actually are, I haven't seen a single medevac machine anywhere, I assume they are still at the northern bases. If that is the case those airplanes may be months from being airborne again.
I view the fact that we haven't heard much from Skyward employees as admission of guilt. Not that the employees are guilty of anything, just an admission that people may have somewhat expected this. These people are unemployed, why would they admit to problems which may further delay their return to work. You have to beleive that if Skyward were really being made an unfair example of that people would be rioting and posting their thoughts everywhere, but that isn't the case.
The grim reality now is that the market has absorbed much of Skyward's business, charter operators are adding airplanes, medevac machines are slowly multiplying and perhaps the largest blow is Perimeter's base expansion in YTH.
Good Luck to the drivers and mechanics out there, hopefully most people will find work, but Skyward as a major player in Manitoba is all but finished.
Last I heard is that TC wants Skyward to account for the parts on the aircraft they want to put back in the air. Basically, trace the history of all non original parts... sounds like a big job!

Seeing as you have nothing but time on your hands, why don't you wander down to the Court of Queen's Bench and read the affifavits filed by your CEO and his banker last month. Anyone can do that. Do it on your next trip to the EI office and then enlighten the rest of us

All you have to do is talk to someone you know that still works there and is a valuable source of info. Or atleast someone who is willing to tell what they know. Not hard to figure out what is ACTUALLY going on.[/b]
in answer to your query--no the AME is not at Skyward but at another job and still would like people to think he has quit but there are a few of us who know otherwise--I still think there is another issue here--just what is going on--this weekend is MUNN Cup Weekend/Spring break--sure took a good chunk of revenue away from Skyward to "help" someone else out--again something smells rotten in Denmark or at TC--just wonder what next week will bring more of Skyward doing all that is asked for to date and still no planes in the air--sure seem odd-Perimeter/Keystone and how many others have accidents with deaths and they are still flying--Keystone may have a "few" planes but size dosen't make the difference-nor does paperwork--and again I ask--if things were so bad at Skyward--why weren't they shut down before now????? 18 years in the Industry should say something positive about a company who had well over 250 employees--why aren't some of the """political""" people in the north looking into this if not to help Skyward but to help the 250 families affected by this-I guess we are going to continue to be a welfare "EI" city no matter how hard people try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we are going to continue to be a welfare "EI" city no matter how hard people try!
So long as you keep electing the NDP, I see no way out for your welfare state.

You've finally made it in Aviation when you nolonger work in a city which begins with Fort, Port, Prince, or Saint. Or leave aviation and stay in a Fort.
