Just a question as to your favorite airline lounge (either location or airline). Don't forget to say why.
The reason is because I've recently been in AC lounge at YYZ (just last month) and it is really spectacular. But from what I've heard, there are wayyyyy better lounges out there.
Cheers

It used to be the bar upstairs in the terminal at Edmonton Muni. Tons of avaition memorabalia. Ayyone remember the humungous red Stinston SR-9 model above the piano?
Maple Leaf lounge in YVR. Because the serve booze for free and let you chat on AvCanada-chat while you wait an absurd amount of time for your delayed jet.
Where as Red Carpet in SFO and DEN suck because you have to pay to get loaded. Plus the snacks aren't that great.

Ditto on Maple Leaf Lounges. Certainly the nicest North American airline lounges, all of them. Particular like Toronto domestic and US lounges, not as big a fan of the international one.
The US SkyTeam (Delta, Northwest, Continental, and Alaska) are also pretty nice. MLL still has the best food, and best selection at the self serve bar. The Continental and Delta lounges have open bars that aren't as nice in my opinion. Northwest lounges are very similar to Maple Leaf Lounges - though, not sure what's happened since the Delta merger.
The US Star Alliance lounges are just crappy. No free booze, no free internet, overcrowded, crappy, salty food only....
Most international lounges are nicer. MLL/SAS lounge at Heathrow is nice... So are the BMI lounges.
My experience with the various Asian lounges is limited, but good.
Singapore air Seoul Korea. Rooms to sleep free booze free massage on flights over 6 hrs. Lots of room great view of the runways Hell they even have heated toilet seats. And the Singapore flight attendants should all be models GRRRR.
Last time i was in the A/C lounge a few weeks back in YYC they are now charging for wireless unless you are an air canada super elite flier.

That's terrible! I had my AC SE status for a few years, which was very nice. No status anymore and back to being treated like a peon by AC, but last time I was in the YUL domestic lounge, a few weeks ago, a login page came up asking for my last name and flight number (I think that's what it was). Let me right in to the wireless...
Is there any way to access the lounges if you are jumpseating? I notice on the AC website you need a "same-day confirmed boarding pass" (plus fee) to get in.

That's pretty funny considering YYC offers free wi-fi in the entire terminal. How does AC get around that in their lounge?

As long as your in an AC/Jazz Uniform, you get access any time you want. This includes (for the time being, all AC employees. If your jumpseating on an AC flight and your, for example, a WJ employee, I am not entirely sure what the policy is... I would guess that you can't. Even if your an AC non-Rev (travelling out of uniform), you have to pay the cost of using the louge now. It used to be (some time ago) that non-rev AC employees travelling could use the lounge but not anymore.
If you get AC Maple Leaf Lounge Access, you must check out the one in YYZ. It's one of the better ones!

My favorite is the A/C arrivals lounge in LHR. A hot shower and a chance to clean up after a flight is really nice.
I've never seen a uniformed A/C or Jazz pilot in the A/C lounge. I've spent enough time there that I have to suspect it's because they're not allowed. Lots of em in Business Class once you board the aircraft though.
Wi-Fi has always been free in the A/C lounge, although they now want your name and flight number. I'm an "Elite" so maybe that has some bearing.
I've discovered that "free" wi-fi in airport terminals usually isn't.

It's definitely free in YYC, I've used it a few times now. In fact I'll be using it tomorrow on my way over to Maui.

I am not Elite. I have an american express card that allows me lounge access. Maybe there is an issue with my computer that the only Internet i showed available was Data Valet. When i tried to access this site it did ask for my name and flight number. When i entered the information it sent me to a page requesting my credit card information and wanted to charge $9.95 to the card. I asked the front desk receptionist why. She informed me the service was only free to business class and super elite passengers.
Not that I've ever been but isn't the LH First Class Terminal at FRA quite spectacular.
I have been there, and yes it was! (Long story, but no, I didn't buy the ticket.) Private security & Customs, amazing food & booze, the Benz limo taking you to the a/c before any other pax get near the a/c... The service & menu on the top deck of the 747 was awesome too! Think fine caviar and excellant filet mignon!
