What province(s) do you operate out of?

It seems the best coverage for the EVDO data network is in Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa), Nunavut has only 1X RTT data service (it's slow), and Manitoba doesn't have any Data coverage for Bell since their agreement with MTS expired or was terminated. Cell coverage has been great for me in these 3 provinces, and also in the United States when I visited last month (Massachusetts).

I've had the phone for about 5 months now and I am quite satisfied. The cell and data plans are well priced, and I have had no hardware issues with the phone.

Not to discourage but the Palm has not received great reviews - I believe I was reading on ZDnet and there was a pretty comprehensive review. I was looking at the Palm Pre for my daughter at the time and went with the crackberry 9700 instead.

The new HSPA network with Bell and Telus has holes in it so before you jump from CDMA to GSM I would look at where you will be using your phone.

Texting isn't bad with it and coverage isn't bad on the Prairies. That being said I hate mine, most of the basic phone features aren't very user friendly. The touch screen on mine also was quirky when it was working and that was for but a short time. Needless to say I won't get another.

I drove through Manitoba about a month ago and on my Blackberry 8330 on Bell I had Data coverage. In Winnipeg I even believe it was EVDO.

My coverage was great from Kamloops to Sept Iles, QC. Only a couple spots with no coverage on the TCH but they were brief. Biggest Dead Zone is just before Sault Ste. Marie in Great Lake Provincial Park.
