Saw it all the time when I worked the ramp at YVR, it was usually confined to the bagroom however, and not out in full view of the passengers.

I used to work for Jet Eagle Transfer at YVR South Terminal from 02-04 (along with Ed H. (RIP)), and if anyone showed as much as even 1% of the abuse to our bags as those arseholes on the Youtube vid, then their arse wouldn't touch the ground until it was over the Arthur LaIng Bridge, with Burt's boot still attached! Anyone who treats another's personal property like that deserves to, at the very least, be fired on the spot.
I'm surprised that those boozos on the vid aren't employed at YYZ. On every Air Canada flight I've been on as a pax through YYZ, my baggage has been trashed, including a double trashing this year on both legs of a YYZ-FLL-YYZ flight. If I ever meet anyone who works as a baggage handler at YYZ, I will kick them hard in the nuts, and then remove their kneecaps (for starters) - I'll be flying out of YYZ in December, although with Delta, so maybe I'll be ok?!?!?!?! And just in case it's the same eeejit's that do Delta's bags, I'll be the pissed of Englishman wearing a Latics footie shirt.

My first flight of the day is always a mail run, so we've been well versed in mail handling.

Each time a bag/box of USPS mail touches the ground, it's a possible $5000 fine.

Delivered to the wrong aeropurto: $15000.

The USPS is almost as anal as the TSA.

I worked for Burt at J.E.T. back in '99, and two of the guys I worked with got punted out the door for smashing a couple boxes of groceries on the ground. Glad I never made the mistake of fooling around with the frieght or baggage.
