Hi, I am Ex-RAAF Avionics, currently working in Canada.

Whats your plan?
Why Quebec?
Are you a LAME?

Sorry for the questions but if I can help you out I will.

(Learn from my mistakes)

Regards

aussiecanuck is right , why Quebec ? that's really not the best place for avionics positions............except if you can get in with ACTS.
Find out what kind of credit you can get from TC for licencing purpose. Are you looking for a bench work position or heavy maintenance ?

You should try L3 communications in Mirabel, the are currently doing the o/h and upgrades on the CF-18's. My understanding is they are bringing in a lot of out of country contractor's due to lack of military experience of the work force. They bought out Bombardier's defence division in Mirabel, apparently a good place to work, I see a lot of F-18 test flts up there.
Also try the Bombardier biz jet division. I have a friend who is a foreman there and he tells me they are backed up and looking for experienced people. The division is called BCCM. The new C-0series will bring a lot of work as well. Good luck.
