Just wondering if anyone knows if we are allowed to use the Air Canada Cargo discounts while on leave of absence, or who would be the best person to check with??

Check with a MLO... if you do still qualify, I believe FedEx offers us a better discount than our own airline.

And you'll actually be able to send something with the expectation it gets there. :D You'll have to state what the item is and make sure that you state that its a personal item, otherwise if its something involved with a sideline business there's no discount.

Jeez stop slamming the company responsible for your own financial security. Where is the benefit in that?
I shipped a 300-400lb treadmill for a friend. Quote over 1000$. With my discount just over 100$. They even took it off my car and helped tape up the package. Top notch professional service.

I have used the Fedex ID75 quite a bit. The thing to remember is that the discount is on their most expensive service only. So if it does not need to be there yesterday, then it isn't always the best option, especially for larger items.

Amazing how we can fly ourselves to Las Vegas direct, non stop, within the same day and have a dinner and movie included for about $199. Try sending an empty coffin to Las Vegason Fedex. It does not go direct, no dinner, no movie and arrives the next day, all for the low low price of $2500.

And who said there is no money in aviation?
