Air North...Yukon

Post by Beach 200 »

I tried searching for some info on the company and can't find any! Does anyone have any info on there pay and hiring prospects. I heard they are getting another 737 but 400 series and they may need drivers. Company culture would also be a good one to mention also! Appreciate any info.

Cheers,

Unless you are already typed, or they know you ie: live in YXY already, not much chance as they move guys from the ramp.

One of my biggest career regrets is leaving Whitehorse.

Great town, wonderful flying area, good boss at Air North.

I got sucked into a job flying "big airplanes" and thought it was an advancement.

Too soon we grow old, too late we grow wise.

What do the Air North drivers make up there? Hawker Captains and Boeing Captains?
Much movement up there? I work for an airline in Toronto, but hate it, I love the North! Yukon looks beautiful, the type of activities I like doing. Plus Air North flies the old classics, which I would enjoy doing. One question on my mind is.... Can I afford to work there!! Any help?

great people, great town... everyone I have talked to at Air North really enjoy it there.....not sure on pay, benefits, etc.....the lucky folks working there are definitely there for the lifestyle and to live in Whitehorse ..seems like morale is good and they have company teams for extracurricular sports in the city (hockey, softball, etc.).....Whitehorse is gorgeous, It has everything you would need plus endless outdoor activities (if that's what your in to) and housing/cost of living is fairly reasonable. Great equipment. 37-400 is already online (not sure what route its flying).

definitely on my list of dream jobs :P

Not sure of the pay scale, but like everyone else onboard here, YXY is a lifestyle choice of the great outdoors, a wonderful and friendly community. From what I hear the company is great to work for, great people and the turnover rate very low. To move from the 748 to the 37 is rare and few between. To get a flying job there is like trying to find hen's teeth. But all the best if you do get in, I am sure you will enjoy it.
