OK OK !!!!

I've had an enough!!! Here is what happened!!!

One dark evening 3 crew members prepare for their last leg to YYB..............................

oops sorry, time for breakfast. Guess you'll have to wait for the TSB report.

p.s. next time why don't you try asking for a reason a little nicer and not sit there and insult jazz and it's training, and maybe, just maybe someone will give you some long winded details about the chain of events that unfolded that evening!

Enjoy the wait!

When you get it figured out so us dumb bastards can understand it please feel free to post the hows' and whys'
Keep in mind some of us have more Flight instruction experience than we would like to admit in the presence of sky gods and have heard just about every pathetic excuse ever thought of by those who are intent on killing us with their incompetence .So if you could keep it short and simple, so the short and simple can understand .Gives us the short field version.Thank you ,

El Comat wrote: it takes over two hours to present the material because the actual event took well over two hours to unfold (pre-flight/in-flight/post-flight), plus there's a Q&A, plus an exercise for the class to do. Believe it or not, you need to look at an ENTIRE flight sequence to properly investigate it and learn from it.
The only relevant part of the two hours is the 10 seconds it took a STOL aircraft to exceed the 10 thousand foot runway it was given to land on. The rest is just excuse making. I'm so glad the Jazz pilots of tomorrow are getting such in depth training on how not to make this particular mistake in the future, but the fact that it is such a focus of the training is concerning to me. What could possibly be learned from this training except the blindingly obvious, which is that you should try to keep your aircraft safely within the runway environment when operating at an airport.

It has been suggested to me, that because they were using a LOC approach, and not an ILS, they could have set up their FMS for an incorrect descent profile, breaking out much further down the runway than anticipated? I could sure see that happening. But, if it were THAT simple, they would have admitted it. Perhaps not.

They said they made a mistake?.. How much more "dumb down" can you make it??? How and why are really irrelevant at this point .. especially since you are no authority figure in this matter. Your egotistical attitude tells me that you obviously have nothing to learn from this incident anyway, so just continue your career in the circuit with incompetent students.

I can't remember there being this much scrutiny over the AC Rj that over-ran the runway? .. Or the WestJet bird that over-ran a runway? .. Or the AC bird that landed or almost landed at the wrong airport?? ..

Doc ... is everything a conspiracy in your life?? ..

No, have you heard of "cause and effect"? Or, are you happy with the "just made a mistake...." line of thinking? In my pea sized brain, something "caused" that mistake.

They were doing an SCDA approach. I havent done my CRM yet but was told that the crew was not too familiar with SCDA's as the Dash pilots don't do them frequently. The SCDA was the only way they could do the approach under the weather conditions.

That's a class reply. First you take a shot (albeit, tongue in cheek) at the guy's sister, then you belittle the guys background, and call HIM "egotistical". Don't fall off that horse of yours, it's a long fall back to reality.

Doc, you're being attacked, and so is your history (which is no one's bi'niss), for the sake of hiding the truth about this accident.

As el comat said, we don't have real answers why the dude behind him ran into him. I flew dashs, and I recall them having FDRs and CVRs (correct me if I'm mistaken el comat :P).

But that's a cool analogy there el comat.

I'm not sure why I ran my dash 8-100 off a 10k strip. However, I did stay at a holiday inn express last night! Soooo, let's just forget about it.

Fack, I actually came outta hibernation to reply to this!

Release the hounds ;)
