CASCADE AEROSPACE WINS CONTRACT FOR IN
SERVICE SUPPORT FOR CANADAS NEW CC-130J
SUPER HERCULES AIRCRAFT
Abbotsford, BC, Canada - Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company has selected
Cascade Aerospace Inc. to provide aircraft maintenance, engineering,
modification, and support services for Canadas new fleet of 17 CC-130J Super
Hercules Tactical Lift aircraft.
Lockheed Martin signed a contract with the Government of Canada in January of
2008 for the purchase of 17 CC-130J Super Hercules airlifters and related
equipment and services. The contract includes utilizing Canadian industry for
twenty years of in service support for the fleet. The aircraft and support
programs, and the resulting Industrial Regional Benefits, represent many
hundreds of millions of dollars in business for Canadian industry.
Under its contract with Lockheed Martin, Cascade Aerospace will conduct third
line maintenance (also known as heavy maintenance) and modifications on
Canadas CC-130J fleet at Cascades Abbotsford, BC headquarters, as well as
provide technical and maintenance support at 8 Wing Trenton, ON, DNDs main
CC-130 operational base. Key subcontractor Marshall Aerospace Canada, a
subsidiary of world-leading C-130 expert Marshall Aerospace, will provide
engineering support for the new fleet.
We are extremely proud that Cascade has been selected to support the new
workhorse of the Canadian Forces, the Super Hercules says Ross Reynolds,
Lockheed Martin Vice President C-130 programs. Cascade proved time and
time again throughout the rigorous selection process that it has the abilities,
facilities and personnel necessary for this demanding task. Experience on this
program will make Cascade a valuable support partner not only in Canada but
around the world.

Canadas first new CC-130J aircraft will be delivered in June 2010, and all 17
aircraft are expected to be delivered by May 2012.
In another vote of confidence from Lockheed Martin, Cascade Aerospace will
soon become a Lockheed Martin-approved Hercules Service Center, joining only
13 other Lockheed Martin-approved C-130 Hercules Service Centers in the
world. Cascade will also become a Lockheed Martin-approved C-130J Heavy
Maintenance Center.

Following the award of a performance-based contract by Canadas DND in late
2005, Cascade Aerospace is the prime contractor for the comprehensive fleet
management of Canadas fleet of 32 earlier model CC-130E and CC-130H
aircraft. It is under this contract that Cascade is responsible for managing all
aspects of the in service support of Canadas legacy model CC-130 fleet.
Marshall Aerospace Canada, which is one of Cascades prime team members,
currently provides extensive engineering support for Canadas legacy model CC-
130 aircraft.

This appears to be quite a significant contract for Cascade on the C-130. Does anyone know if this includes repair work on the landing gears as well as the full airframe?
