I will be there the whole time with bells on.
The problem is that I have so many possibilities of where I could go to party that weekend.
Here's some skinny for other people to know about:
Red Bull wants a BUNCH of people out at the AIRPORT for the final ceremonies. There will be jumbotrons and grandstands out on the apron on Sunday to check things out. Go through the Windsor Flying Club and say, "I wanna sit in the stands." Thats FREE. You get to see the planes coming and going. And you get to hang with the pilots and mechanics afterwards.
This is the email I got:
The members, families and friends of the
WFC,
CH2A and
EAA are cordially invited to view the Red Bull Air Races from the Pit area in front of the Windsor Flying Club on SUNDAY JUNE 6, 2020 from 1100hrs till the races and presentations are over.
Grandstands will be set up in front of a huge jumbotron so that you will be able to see the races, live and in colour on the Detroit River.....in addition, you will be able to see the aircraft departing and arriving the pit area on their way to/from the Detroit River. Refreshments will be provided, NO CHARGE AND ADMISSION IS FREE.
Upon completion of the races at approx 1600hrs, you are invited to gather round the stage in the pit area where the winning pilots will be awarded their medals.....Red Bull would love a large, live audience for the medal awards, which will be telecast live and archived......you may see yourself on TV for months.......!!!!
I will email you with details regarding parking areas, entry point to the field, and accreditation procedures within the next couple of days.
(that was indirectly from the big cheese at the WFC)
I might get in shit for posting this, but I'll remove it if requested. Hey, you're all my friends!
I might or might not be there. I'll be the guy with the shoulder-blade-length brown long hair and the black baseball cap with no logo on it. Just say, "Hi ISTP!" I'm not sure if there is a beer tent at the airport. I'm thinking "no". But will let you all know as I get info.
The bars I frequent are the Loop/Pogo's/The Coach and Horses, Milk Cafe, The Pourhouse, and I will let you in on the gem of all gems of restaurants- God I might be shot for this.
ACAPULCO DELIGHT. It's a dump owned by Chinese dudes, but they make OK Mexican food at OK prices with a view of the river. Uh no, I just talked about Fight Club.
And to save you some searching on Avcanada, here's my original post on the subject.
