Well, I am here to eat pie on my previous post.

First class is going on now. Stop by the Airways Centre and see for yourself, and it's pilots, not FAs. I know the first ground school was suppose to be the 19th. Just calling it as I see it.

I already know of 3 guys who got the call. They sure work fast. I wonder how many get interviewed for the 45 positions. I've heard that it's for the RJ in Toronto. Not much on the West Coast or other bases. This is what one of the guys who just got interviewed told me. Good luck everyone!

RJ YYZ spots? Wonder how many spots will be available after all the guys/gals who were forced off the RJ on Dash exercise their reinstatement rights. That is, should they want back on the RJ.

Yeah, Id highly doubt that there would be many (if any) YYZ RJ spots. There's about 20 of us FOs who have reinstatement rights, and Id imagine most of us want back on. There's quite a few YVR and YUL RJ pilots waiting to exercise their reinstatement rights as well. At the moment, YYC is the junior RJ base.

I haven't the slightest clue. I asked my friends what bases the spots were open to, and they all were told YYZ RJ spots.

There's no way the company would say what spots are open in the interview. They have never done that, and they probably never will; it's a unionized company with strict bidding protocol to follow according to the ALPA Jazz collective agreement.

This isn't a bush operation where management just decides where people will go based on how it suits them; an official equipment bid will have to be published, and pilots holding reinstatement rights will have their positions back (and there are plenty of displaced pilots system-wide) any pilot based on seniority will have the option to bid on position openings prior to any new hire having dibs. New hires get the last of the last.

I'm doubtful any new hire would see an YYZ CRJ position. If anything a YYC CRJ position, and even those might be bid on by current pilots on the roster. It's going to be Dash-8 positions most likely for new hires, my guess, YYC and YUL, maybe YYZ.

if i were you i would be bombarding porter, quebec hydro, perimeter or any other dash8 operator in canada with my resume. you might stand a good chance of DEC at porter or perimeter. perimeter is adding a 3rd dash8 and are looking for current dash8 drivers right now.

i don't think i would hire you if i was on the jazz hiring board due to the likelihood of you becoming a disgruntled FO after having to wait over 8 years to get back into the left seat with so much command time already. i'm not saying you are this type of pilot but too many are. myself included.

reference calls??

if you get say medical at some point, is that a good sign you are moving on?

Mig, if you get to the medical stage, your next call will be a start date or you failed the medical. Security check is done while in groundschool, if you think for some reason you wouldn't qualify for a red pass, you might want to speak up, so as not to waste anyones time. No red pass, no fly. So if you quit a job, come to jazz and then cant get the pass, your employ with Jazz is over.
