Wow.. For someone like Airsprint HR too come on here and explain things, is really in my thinking awsome... It just shows a little insight into the company..

To clarify, we are increasing pilot numbers in Montreal from 4 to 6.

Yet another question for HR.

Do you generally offer positions in Ontario to a candidate that is living in Alberta or in another location far from the base where the position is open? If so how do you work the interviews? Are they just conducted at the closest base or are they all in Calgary?

I am currently in Alberta but trying to work my way back to Ontario. Just wondering if it would be hard to get on with your company at a base that is not near my current location.

In the past, most interviews were conducted in Calgary. From time to time, we will conduct interviews in another location (such as Montreal for this round), but you can always interview in Calgary. The situation that you described is quite common and we have no problem with it.

Again thank you for taking all this time to answer questions. Airsprint seems like a decent place to work as far as I am concerned. I was curious about the Citation's. What is that salary like (FO's and Capt's) and does seniority transfer? For example, let's say someone has been right seat on the PC-12 for 2 years, and then they jump to captain. Do they start at the 2nd year of Capt salary in the company? Or same example with someone being on the PC-12 for 5 years, if they switch over to the jet, do they start again at the bottom of the payscale?

1500 TT, 1000 Multi-Turbine, University and Master Degree, Fluent in 3 languages, I live in Montreal (30 minutes from YUL). Corporate experience. Canadian Passport, security red pass, having flown to the states several times, etc, etc.
I applied three times for AirSprint, not even one single call for an interview.
I don’t consider myself better than any other pilot here and I know there are lots of fellows with more experience than myself but I guess that with my experience I could at least be considered for an interview. (for a PC12 FO position)
I really appreciate the fact that you are the only person from H.R. who answer our questions, thanks very much for your time.

Interviews were held on Tuesday in Montreal. As I am not sure of the status of the notifications, I’ll reserve announcement until early next week. My understanding is that the interviewers were happy with the results and that no further interviews are currently being scheduled for these positions.

Citation Salary:

Captain
Year 1: 60k
Year 2: 70k
Year 3: 80k
Year 4: 85k
Year 5: 87.5k
Year 6: 90k
Year 7: 92.5k
Year 8: 95k
Year 9: 97.5k
Year 10: 100k

First Officer
Year 1: 36k
Year 2: 42k
Year 3: 48k
Year 4: 51k
Year 5: 52.5k
Year 6: 54k
Year 7: 55.5k
Year 8: 57k
Year 9: 58.5k
Year 10: 60k

All PC12 First Officers enter the scale at year 1. We try to hire as few direct entry pilots as possible into positions other than PC12 First Officer. When we do, entry into the scale at year levels other than year 1 is considered based on previous related experience. All internal upgrades to Jet Captain have been for pilots without previous Jet Captain experience and as a result are at year 1 of the scale.

PC12 Captains transitioning to the jet FO pay schedule enter the FO scale at the same year level and salary anniversary date that they held on the PC12 Captain schedule: For example, a 3rd year PC12 Captain would enter C56X FO pay scale at the 3rd year level.

Jet FO’s transitioning to PC12 Captain enter the PC12 Capt scale at their current jet FO year level and salary anniversary date less one year. For example, a 3rd year jet FO would enter PC12 Capt pay scale at the 2nd year level and keep his/her jet FO anniversary date for annual increases.

Company seniority is used for upgrades, vacation bids, and benefits improvements.

Hi Mustang06,

As I mentioned in a previous post in this thread, please do not take it personally that you did not get a call for an interview. It's likely not a situation where we do not want you, but in the hundreds of resumes that we received, there were a few others who must have came across as more of a fit for this specific posting. I did not see the resumes that came in for these postings so I can't comment on how your experience compares to those selected for interviews. I do understand that applying for jobs can be frustrating, and I encourage you to keep applying in the future if AirSprint is where you would like to be.

Am I the only one here who finds that citation payscale incredibly poor?

60K for the left seat on a corporate jet in yyc?? I make more in the right seat of a small turboprop!

Yea but you have to fly a small turboprop and Air Sprints Captains fly a nice shiny jet. :lol:

beast you are 100% correct. No Citation captain should be flying in YYC or anywhere
for under $110,000 period.

If you don't like the payscale offered at Airsprint....don't apply! If your job pays better than Airsprint then stay at your job. Its pretty rare that a representative from a company comes on to Avcanada to answer questions and provide company information so lets keep the thread positive

Quit kidding yourselves, that payscale is a joke!

I was thinking of applying for the PC12 job previously, but after seeing the salary, and subsequently throwing up in my mouth a bit, I passed. And the latest ad for the DFO in Arizona for 80K - Are you F'ing kidding me??!!

Just because a company rep comes on an answers questions or gives personalized information, doesn't clear the company of paying slave wages. Fack, give your head a shake if you even remotely think those wages are acceptable, especially for the jet captains :roll:

the citation payscales are a joke but making 38k or whatever it is at air canada (locked in for 2 years) on the EMB is acceptable? airsprint is going in the right direction. the working conditions have only improved over the years since the company started and will continue to. there is little movement on the jets here. that speaks for itself.

Just because there is movement, doesn't mean the company has favourable working conditions and high job satisfaction. It could just mean that other corporate flight departments and charter companies don't want AirSprint pilots.
