Wrong, France uses French like in Québec and so far it works not too bad. But let's not start that debate again!Hawkerflyer wrote:Listen PeeCreeper, Its not a pity at all! We probably do, but I really don't care. And I don't think anyone else in YXL does either. Even FSS here has fun with it.

Well I can tell you everytime I go there or over fly that wonderful country I have never had an issue with the french pilots or ATC. Unless they give you a SAFA check, french is no concern.Jonathan wrote:Wrong, France uses French like in Québec and so far it works not too bad. I am actually a lot cooler than you. Not only does my mother say so, but so do all the gangs that want me to be a member. Anyway, I didn't think you were trying to be cool.moose_meat wrote:M.M. is way cooler than you any day, no matter what your mother tells youMeatservo wrote: It's not really cool when he does it either. Ha! Well said. I wasn't originally doing it to be cool, but I will now for phillyfan's enjoyment.

I said hello for you.
P.S cat sounds after someone calls heading to Cat Lake are also gay. Perhaps in YXL they have a deeper meaning. Once you guys get a few seasons under your belt you'll realize the errors in your ways.

Although not one word, why not just use good 'ol "Cut the chatter"?Big Pistons Forever wrote:Aviation has lots of one word declarative calls like Roger, Afirmative, Looking, WILCO etc etc...... maybe we need a word which means " Please OMG pleeeeeeaasssse shut up as you are tying up the radio with your moronic transmision" . The idea being you could say the call sign of the offender and the word and her/she would understand what they were doing and cease making stupid transmissions...... I nominate STOOFOO (STFU). Anybody got any other suggestions ?

There we go. Let' face it... When was the last time you heard about a midair collision involving an Anglophone and a''rogue'' French speaking pilot?
I'm all for bitching about useless chatter on 28.7/26.7 but can't we keep this discussion civil?

Exactly what I tought, every time you speak with somebody from Québec, you think we're all separatists...we don't want to hear anything about that anymore... But you to wake-up. Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are more separatists than quebecers I can tell you that. My feathers are made of aluminum, harder yo ruffle than you think HF...

It almost seems that there's a lot of guys out there who are a little bent out of shape that they've been left out of a great inside joke/tradition.
And for those who want to say it's unprofessional to roger, all of us who say it can argue that it's the exact opposite. Yes, we use it to say "switch to freq. X" to chat, but it also acknowledges the other pilots position report.
Whatever you other guys say, RAWGEER! is going to continue to be said on the air for a long time. It's ok to be professional and have fun at the same time.

You guys need to find something else to get pissed off about. I think the radio antics are funny. At least someone is in a good mood.

Funny like when my buddy went down in the trees shortly after takeoff and could'nt get in on 122.8 because of idle chit chat.

Care qto elaborate??????????
Since a couple of years, I can feel over conversations out of the job with collegues that the're proud of their achivements and remember that they didn't get much help when they where really in the hole, especially from the richer provinces so now they remember and they're gonna make us pay for it. Mining and off-shore plattforms will make them over the next years the most profitable province in Canada. When I tease them over their intentions of separatism, they smile with the blink of an eye. I witnessed that quite of few times.... and now here comes Old Harry... far from being over.

Gotta love it...only in Quebec and Newfoundland. If we're not happy, lets split from the country.Caracrane wrote: Since a couple of years, I can feel over conversations out of the job with collegues that the're proud of their achivements and remember that they didn't get much help when they where really in the hole, especially from the richer provinces so now they remember and they're gonna make us pay for it. All jokes aside, it's just a miniscule of each population that want to separate.
