Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
Not to hijack the thread but what kind of hours are they looking for when they hire on the smaller stuff (C172, 206, etc.)?

It is not a matter of what you are flying but how you fly it.Highflyinpilot wrote:2500 FOR A 172!!!!!!!!![]()

That job requires flying at a few hundred feet, sometimes below 250 AGL all day long, on a very precise path, over any kind of terrain. Tolerances are within a few meters, vertically and horizontally. The risk factor is as high as for a spray pilot, if not higher. Aircraft type doesn't really matter in that type of aerial work.

So then I'm guessing they don't hire low time guys generally?
Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
If you're sick do you get advice on this public forum?
Don't listen to what you read on here, most of it is crap written by people with nothing better to do than spew off their great knowledge of aviation
Call the bloody company up and ask.

Thats why I asked what kind of flying they do. Cause 2500 for a 172 is quite a bit.( that last statment is not a argument or anything)

Check your PM's Highflyinpilot.
I'd rather talk with you on the phone than writing crap in here to spew my knowledge!

Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
I didn't realize their 172 times were so high. I was doing low level stuff (wildlife inventory and telemetry) in a 206 at 500TT.
I talked to a couple of their pilots who were in here and they seem very happy with the company. One just bought a house so they must remunerate well for the experience. The 172 is a fun plane out of the circuit and practice area.

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
That 2500 is just a number I picked at random, I know nothing about this company or their pilot requirements.
Thats why I asked the origninal question, whats up with the quest for Edmonton maintenance staff.
Not to hi-jack the thread or anything, jeez give me a break.

What's your input about geophysical survey and low-level work?

I think he is miffed that we turned his original inquiry about maintenance ad for AES into a discussion about survey and low-level work... but he is still oblivious that this topic is in the Bush Flying and Specialty Air Service Forum rather than the Maintenance or Employment Forum...

Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
Hello all,
Anyone have recent information on schedule, hours flown and pay at Airborne?
Thank you!

Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
Schedule is variable but 5 and 2, could be 6 and 1 during the summer when things are busy. Fly 50hrs a month offseason and 90 during the summer. Pay is the base+ hourly, probably one of the highest for any entry level flying job. One of the best/fastest ways to get to the airlines imo. Start as an observer in the right seat not logging time for the first 1 to 5 months depending on demand/performance.

Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
Thank you for this information Chris, I have been scouting all over the internet for those details. I was wondering at around how many hours they would hire for the right seat?ChrisB wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 5:48 amSchedule is variable but 5 and 2, could be 6 and 1 during the summer when things are busy. Re: Airborne Energy Solutions
Go ahead and call them they do not require 2500 hours as mentioned .
they are expanding the operation and looking for a few crews flying and maintenance
