Not this low-timer!
Re: TELEVISION CO. LOOKING FOR FERRY PILOTS FOR DISCOVERY SE
Airborne2010: Let's not mind the "adventurous, risk-taking" bit of your post (which might make for a good TV show teaser, but not for an ad that'd attract the safety conscious pilots you want) for a minute and kindly ask you to tell us more about the job itself. I know aviation may not be a field you are familiar with, but the following questions would give us all a chance to start discussions on a better footing, and spare you a barrage of redundant questions by e-mail.airborne2010 wrote:We are URGENTLY looking for adventurous, risk-taking Ferry pilots for a new Discovery Channel series. If this sounds like you or someone you know email your name & contact information to plaurence@pixcom.com.
You're talking about a ferry: from where to where?
What type of airplane?
Hours/experience requirements for the pilot? (If any/If known)
Is this a Canadian or American registered airplane? (This is important, as the licences aren't the same)
What's the approximate duration of the contract?
When do you need to start?
Salary bracket to be expected? (If possible to disclose at this point)
Television specific criteria? (Expressiveness? Aptitude to vulgarize things? Television related technical know-how?)
There is a template in the job ads section that may be worth a look.
Thanks in advance,
Louis

I did email to ask some of those details a few days ago and got no response. It was more out of curiosity than actual interest in the "job"Louis wrote: You're talking about a ferry: from where to where?

I was told that they don't have a plane, they basically want to catch a ride on a delivery/ferry flight that's already going to happen. Could be to anywhere on any type with any level of experience.

Cool......I nominate Niss to take them to Iceland in his Warrior.LegoMan wrote:they basically want to catch a ride on a delivery/ferry flight that's already going to happen. Could be to anywhere on any type with any level of experience.

I'll fly anything anywhere. I don't care if it's an old 172 with half a wing and firing on only 1 cylinder out of Fort Iwannabone or a cargo plane full of rubber dogshit out of hong kong. There is nothing I won't fly.

A buddy of mine used to ferry for Cessna out of Witchita. Was a really boring job.LegoMan wrote:I was told that they don't have a plane, they basically want to catch a ride on a delivery/ferry flight that's already going to happen. Could be to anywhere on any type with any level of experience.

I'm interested, but my fees are $10,000 per week. Minimum 3 month contract. Paid in USD.
