Last I heard, captain's salary was in the neighbourhood of 40K. Nice eh?
Re: VAL Air Ambulance in CYQM
Actually more like $65k for captains. Your quoting F/O's.... Full benefit package as well. Good gig.Changes in Latitudes wrote:Last I heard, captain's salary was in the neighbourhood of 40K. Nice eh?

Point taken, It annoys me when some guys post informations without checking, it kind of defeats the purpose of such a forum which is partly to exchange useful information. But it is true that sarcasm is just as useless and I apologize for that.
So I will add that YQM operation is a well oiled gig, with good working conditions. I guess the only drawback is you work on a pager. Also for those who need to build hours, it is not a quick time building job. But I would recommend this job.
Also what B200 wrote is true. I used to work in YQM for VAL. I am not sure about the FO wage though.

That was the number given to me in my interview a few years back, hence the "last I heard part". Wouldn't have expected their salary to have gone up through years, because afterall, it is VAL. But thank you for the polite correction.

Right and when I was given that wage, I protested, and HR wonder-woman told me "its the same out east". However, they swept a lot of stuff under the carpet at that interview, so no surprises that the wage did indeed vary.
Re: VAL Air Ambulance in CYQM
When is the contract up for renewal? Maybe a decent company will get the contrat one day, then it might be worth considering.
