Airspace Planning
I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about airspace planning as a career. Are there dedicated airspace planners, or is it just a part of someone's job? Do you have to be a licensed controller? Thanks.
Re: Airspace Planning
Airspace planning does not require you to be an air traffic controller, you do however have to work for Nav Canada. There is a branch in the company that deals with airspace and they have managers, pilots, FSS, ATC all working there. I don't think there is an application process to become an airspace planner, you just need to get hired by NC first and then try and work your way to the job.

The above statement is correct. There's no school for that, all training is done in house once hired.
