The first dealer in Canada for the Islander was my father in the late sixties.
First to operate Islander in Canada was Kenting Earth Science of Ottawa, Second I believe was Lambair in The Pas,Manitoba.
This information is from a publication by Britten-Norman called "The First 500".

O W :
Yes Lamb Air had one in 1972 I think it was, I was flying their DC3 and got checked out on the Islander..
It's a fantastic little bush machine.
Not anywhere as noisy inside as a Cat though.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Lambair had more than one: CF-XYK sn. 23, CF-XZS sn. 50. There may have been others but this book was published in 1974.
CF-AZM sn. 114 was flown by my father and a Canadian Forces Pilot in the B.C. Centennial Air Race in 1971 (London England to Victoria B.C.) Finished fourth over all. This aircraft ended up at Peace Air.

If you're really that interested in the ol'jigglybus there is a book which is published every few years by a group called the Britten Norman Historians.
In this book they list every islander every made, it's history of owners, and current status.
Its interesting to read where the plane your flying has been.
I've certainly had my hand on a few of them.
I'll see if I can find a link somewhere.....

If you want to find out how well they take explosions and burn to a crisp, call BOLTON LAKE LODGE and ask the owner Dickless Dick on how to light one up like a Roman Candle.
Happened a couple of years ago hauling avgas in truck saddle tanks and blew the bitch to smithereens.
Burned the helper and blew the pilot out of his seat across the runway. The only thing left was part of the elevator.
They do fly well though....

How's this for an oldie
Aero_Trades in Winnipeg operated a brand new (I think) Islander for a year or two doing a Doctor Clinic around Manitoba. Guessing now around mid 70s
Anyone remember anything of this?
