Tiger Airways Singapore
Hi everyone,
I've recently started as an FO with Tiger and they're still actively recruiting, especially for captains.
Here's a link to their recruitment page where you can find details of the minimums and pay:
http://www.tigerairways.com/sg/en/pilotrecruit.php
It doesn't really state on the main page, but they also have a self funded type rating and the costs are detailed through the Salary & Benefits link.
Feel free to PM if you have any questions. I am still fairly new out here so I haven't seen it all, but so far so good especially from the city. If you're not interested in the job you should at least make a trip out here because it's fantastic!

Re: Tiger Airways Singapore
Everything looks alright, except when you get to the pilots without the A320 rating part....
Option 1: $23,065CDN (30,000SGD) before training starts and $854CDN/month for 18 months (20,000SGD) or
Option 2: $36,903CDN (48,000SGD) upfront
Don't think your going to find too many Canadian type rated A320 pilots willing to move overseas to work for a low cost carrier, or else non type rated guys ready to shell out that kind of cash. Not to mention, they also want you to sign a foregin license conversion bond of $19,200CDN (25,000SGD) for 1 year??? Am I reading that right??!
Glad to hear your liking it our there, I've been to Singapore once a few years back and it's a great city. I'll stick it out with ya if I can have $36,903.00

Pregnant Flight Attendant = Pilot Error
Re: Tiger Airways Singapore
I spoke with a pilot that came back from Air Arabia last year. He previously flew at Tiger Airways and said the training there was subpar at best.

Well to each their own really. There might still be some skyservice guys floating around looking for something and this is a fairly good option compared to easyJet. I used to work there and this is a far better lifestyle than was ever offered there especially with the similar contract.~Hollywood~ wrote:

I don't agree with the pay for type rating as I never had to pay for mine, but just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean I have the right to not let people consider it.
You do have to sign a one year reducing bond, but there are far worse things than spending a year living in Singapore.
They've shaken things up quite a bit lately, but like I said I've only been here a short while so I can't comment on the training throughout Tigers history, but so far so good through my experiences.LegoMan wrote:I spoke with a pilot that came back from Air Arabia last year. Re: Tiger Airways Singapore
I spoke to the Chief pilot this morning and he said that they are very focused on getting rated captains on the line right now, so if you're rated on the 320 for the left seat and interested, definitely get your application in there ASAP. With that said, they're still looking for more guys not type rated left seat and both for the right seat, but there could be some delay in those applications being processed.
