There was a slew of them the other year, that caused a massive panic, but ended up being improper maintenance of the aircraft at SAS rather than a fault or issue with the design.

Seems to me the right engine is feathered and the left is not - I think this was not a hard landing but a gear-that-failed-to-descend?
Either way, "...skin, tin, ticket."

All I meant was, it looked to me like the Captain was expecting a gear failure and shut down the engine in prep - I see I was wrong.

But the rest stands, skin, tin, ticket - a happy ending.

You have lost me there. I thought the engines go feathered on their own when they are shutdown. Which appears to be the case. Unless I am misunderstanding what you're saying.

Hmmm, structural support failure from the looks. Interesting that again it's an SAS plane.

The A/C has really high cycles. And yes the winds can be quite unpleasant.

I'm not defending the pilots or maintenance. Once the download data is analysed I am sure SAS will be forthright about the incident (yes and Christmas is coming Virginia).

But...you know...sometimes... shit happens....

I do fly a dash 8 and funny enough the aircraft is much harder to land and will be a much harder landing when it is light.
