Post by Cobra64 »

Just curious if anybody reading the board does or has worked for ATS (Airport Terminal Services) in Calgary doing ramp work. If you have could you PM me your impressions of working for them? Thanks.

I work at ATS. No flight benefits, short staffed, and we just cut our starting wage. The people are nice for the most part. I think our wage might go up as we just lost a few people to ac so theyre gonna be hiring a bunch in the coming weeks, espesially for deicing. Its a vendor, not an airline so you do get to work on a bunch of different equipment, and with a bunch of really nice people. Equipment is average, but you do tend to work fewer flights and have more downtime than working for an airline which is nice. There are more than a few stories about ATS, take it with a grain of salt. Any place has it's problems, but we recently moved offices and picked up a few new contracts like cargojet, American, etc. I've been here over 18 months and it is turning around. WORLDS better than when I started.

Are you thinking of applying for ramp side or cargo side? Two totally different ball games.
