Bulk Fuel Delivery

Post by cdnpilot77 »

Can anyone help me out. I will be flying out of a private airfield in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. We have a 10,000L bulk fuel tank and I am looking at delivery of 4000-5000L of 100LL every 4-6 weeks minimum.

The boss prefers to deal with Esso as we have an account with them but Esso has told me that they will only deliver 50,000L loads, so they seem to be out.

I have spoken with Hammond Fuels in St. Mary's and they have a fair price with decent delivery terms.

I was just wondering if there were any other options to explore?

Thanks

We often get our fuel put in on the same loads as others. The fuel company will call us and ask 'do you have room for xxxx litres, we are trying to make a load' or we will call them 'we need xxxx litres, do you have any loads going out?'

This system has worked ever since I've been here, though we usually don't do loads that small. We have a 27,000 L tank.

We use PetroValue in Vancouver, but they are a cross-country operation. They are always flexible and reliable. I think our minimum order is 4,000L for Avgas. Because they are an independent distributor, they can shop around to find you the best prices.

The limiting factor is the delivery truck, if memory serves me correct 34,000 litres is the limit.

Disregard, missed what you were driving at... you can only handle 10,000 litre deliverys

Don't deal with Hammonds. They will screw you at any and every opportunity. Just ask anyone who has worked at their FBO.

I'll second Edward Fuels. Really good service and decent prices.
That and you can't really go wrong with a guy who expanded his business just to create jobs in a town that lost the largest employer about a year and a half ago.
