Re: Interviews
Do any of the candidates who have been called for interviews have Q400 ratings?
Good luck to all.
Good luck to all.
Re: Interviews

but aviators are a must!
Kick the tires and light the fires...
Re: Interviews
How do they contact people for interviews? Phone call? Email?
And how many have been contacted for October interviews.
Thanks!

Re: Interviews
I can't speak for this round, however, last round they contacted people via email. If they're hiring 51 people, they'll most likely end up bringing in 125-150 people. To get that many people in for an interview, I'm not sure how many email's they'd have to send out, 200 or so maybe?

Re: Interviews
there was also a phone interview before inviting candidates for the interview itself

Re: Interviews
you're talking about they have that now, or are you saying that had that last round? They didn't have that last round. You may be thinking about westjet, who does that.

Re: Interviews
What sort of experience do the people getting called have?
Re: Interviews
Guys/Gals
Check your "SPAM" on your emails. That's where I found my invite for an interview for Air Canada, and it was the second request from what the email said from Cathy. I never did see the first invite so it must have went into spam as well. Very glad I looked, don't know why I looked but I did. (that was over 4 years ago).
Best of luck

Re: Interviews
It's by phone people are being called right now. I'm guessing they will have plenty of people with 5000+ hours to look at. Good luck to everyone.
Re: Interviews
Is that it then? Did they call enough people to cover the 50+ slots? Hope some more calls are made soon

Re: Interviews
I wonder if those 50 'spots' are there just in case many LOA guys opt to not come back at this time, and AC see doesn't get short handed in the mean time??
Re: Interviews
Can anyone tell me how the Air Canada is contacting people for interviews?
Is it by phone or is it by e-mail like the last hiring wave?

Re: Interviews
So far I've had a few friends get called by phone.
This does not eliminate the e-mail option though.

Jack,
What type of experience did your friends who got the call have?

Mostly 4-5K time. Regional flying.

Re: Interviews
That's good to hear...I'm closer to 5k with lots of DH8 time but still no call. I do know for a fact that they haven't finished contacting folks for the interviews, so there's still hope for those waiting.

Re: Interviews
Just wondering for those who have been called for an interview this round, where are you from? Has anyone been called from the west coast (Vancouver area)? And what kind of experience. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Interviews
Hi Sergio:
I posted this in an earlier thread about the upcoming round of AC interviews:
From what I understand, they tend to weight things towards people on the experienced side.
But that is no guarantee of anything, and there will be exceptions.
Their minimums are technically 1000 hrs, so that means almost anyone who has a professional flying job in Canada will apply, not to mention a swarm of guys overseas. A few loudmouths here will complain about of the lower time folks getting hired (insert your 'favorite' low-timer: kids of AC pilots, women, minorities, Frenchies, etc...). There will be exceptions, but in general these folks are qualified people. Life is too short to get angry like so.
I'll be applying, along with the 4000+ other professional pilots in this country, and I'm not going to waste my time getting angry about things I can't control. I'll keep my fingers crossed, maybe I'll get lucky and get called to interview and get the job, maybe I won't. I've worked long and hard to get where I am - hopefully on the day I interview with AC, I'll get some breaks, and get the job. It would be a dream come true for me. But if not, life goes on, I'll just dust myself off and get ready for the next interview. There is a lot more in this world to do than just get hired by AC.
Good luck to everyone.

At one level - I feel your pain. My credentials are similar to yours, multiple types, 3000+ of hours of jet or turboprop experience (EFIS, multi-crew), plus I have a university degree and am bilingual, but my phone is as quiet as yours.
But give the process time to play out. There are literally THOUSANDS of qualified people in the AC pilot application database. I'm certain there are hundreds of equally-qualified if not better folks than yourself or me. From what I've read, AC spreads things around a bit, so a few lower-time folks will get looked at, along with the 4000+hr types. The 51 pilots slots will hopefully be only the beginning, and hopefully they'll be much more interviewing in the year or two ahead, which should theoretically ensure you get looked at.
Fingers crossed, and good luck to everyone.
