It's a waste when you live nowhere near yyz and it takes alot of time and money to get there. I did, they said the new contract would not affect hiring. And no I'm not new.

You my friend are very short sighted and bordering on ignorant. Would you prefer Jazz to offer you a job, make you quit your old job, have you move to yyz, and then lay you off 3months later when they realize their overstaffing.

In the past, Jazz predecessors have actually issued layoff notices to newhires on their initial courses. (They were retracted, company-union posturing).

I would much rather be offered a position that actually exists with some certainty.

From the mouth of a sim instructor, there is initial sim scheduled for october.

There's a class starting Sept. 27th. Not sure if there are other classes to follow?

On the equipment bid there were 37 or 38 vacancies to fill i beleive. There will be 3-4 classes total. The isn't out yet so i can't give more info as what bases/equipment will be offered.

I dont think they use workopolis anymore. You have to apply via the website (www.flyjazz.ca), click "careers" at the top of the page. However, it doesn't look like they posted the job yet.

Seriously??? Jazz is running ground schools again?
Not to sound too bitter, but I am very confused.

In May 2009 I passed the interview, Sim eval, medical, and security check.
HR called me and said I was a successful candidate, but the May 19th
GS has been cancelled for the time being. Yadda yadda yadda...
I get called this year for another "short" interview.

Not 72 hours later I get PFO'd saying I can reapply in 6 months.

Is it me or are they looking for more than 2500hrs, 500MPIC, lots of turbine
IFR.... and good enough last year??

I have since found another job, but I can't make any sense of it.

Are they only looking for college kids again?

Anyone with actual insight care to shed some light on the odd ways they do things...

As for our hiring, I would expect all the ones that were successful earlier in the year to be the ones that will get the spots on these courses.

Not sure what the deal is Oil Man...all I know there are 4 g/s this fall....about 40 guys and the 27th Sept class is filled with "last" year candidates someone told me. So, yeah....not sure what the deal is, and no I don't think they are hiring "kids" again...sorry man.

I called Jazz HR last week and they said that all the interviews were done for now. They could have been brushing me off though...
