With a little judicious filing, you can make a Cooey self-cock when you close the bolt. That was the one cheesy thing about the old Cooey, load, close the bolt, pull the 'hammer' fire. After the filing, load, close the bolt, fire.

A Cooey model 60 is a nice, inexpensive, old school .22 bolt action. The only thing I don't love about mine is the tube magazine, it's not as slick as reloading a clip equiped rifle.

Yea I've got a Cooey Model 600 .22 Bolt with tube mag - Canadian Made. This one self cocks when you draw the bolt back. It was my first rifle that was given to me by my old man. For a 40+ year old rifle, it looks great and works flawlessly. Accurate as could be, mind you I've only shot close range with this rifle (less than 200 yards).

I can't see myself spending all that much money on a .22. So for a good, old, reliable rifle ... a Cooey certainly has a good rep in my books.

I have a Cooey Model 64B (off the top of my head) that shoots quite accurately. Semi, 3 mags (or 4?). I'd be willing to sell it if you're interested. Throw me a PM if ya want, if not I'll keep plinking with it.
