Next g/s class is suppose to be mid October and another one in November I was told. Sim evals are still on going and some are coming up at the beginning of October.

I called Jazz HR last week and they said that all the interviews were done for now. They could have been brushing me off though...

Yes, they have been calling the candidates back. I just received the offer letter. Starting on the 18th!

guys with multi-turbine Captain time over 12,500lbs don't really count as college kids

Well we are getting to the later part of October and no call from Jazz! They said they would be in touch by mid-September and still nothing. Called HR 1.5 weeks ago and no one has called! Can anyone let me know if people are being called for the Nov. groundschool? Any info would help.

Yup, been told that the classes are full! Was wondering the same question as to when g/s or if any will be held in the new year? I am also curious to know how they determine who they will call out of the candidate pool?

Well sorry to hear some who made it to the pool didn't get in for this year. The short answer as to next years courses, anyone's guess. My guess is based on Jazz press releases and rumors, there will be some hiring. The last press release basically said we anticipate a 10% growth of block hours next year, that combined with rumors of more Thomas cook flying and retirements not to mention Westjet still growing, I predict 60 to 100 pilots next year.
Of course we won't know for sure about any hiring in the new year until the next bid comes out, which is in January.

With that demand; will ATPL still be a min requirement....and are they still hiring college students....I think I speak for the aviation community when I say...I hope not.

No college kid has been brought on as of yet this year. I do not think that will ever go again.

The folks at Algonquin College (they train through the Ottawa Flying Club) were bragging that one of their students that graduated in 2009 just got the call on the 13th. They claim that he was hired through the college program and interviewed in April. After graduating from the College he began to instruct at the Flying School until getting the call.

There was something on the OFC website in their "News" section, as a "success story" about it.
