Is this true?
I work for Jazz and haven't heard anything.
Got some proof?

Either way, this thread represents a chance for everyone to act like grown-ups.
Seize the opportunity.
Seize the opportunity.

Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Everyone picks up a sword on the same side .. its corporations and there executives that we need to align against, not individual pilot groups. Besides pilot groups shouldn't be individual .. we should all be looking out for one another, that's truly the only way to guarantee prosperity for all ...

Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Jesus, Obbie - You definitely have a hate on for AC. One could assume you flew a DH8 or CRJ before your B757, hope you enjoyed being employed for all those years, doing their flying which they used to do on DC9s and the CRJ themselves. It is people like you who make this whole industry a toxic mess. While AC and the ACPA do have some problems, we don't need to act like 15 year old children. It's too bad some people can't just let stuff go, get on with it and perhaps try and get all pilots, whether they work for AC, Jazz, Westjet, CMA, Perimeter, Georgian, PASCO etc... all on one cause, to fight together to make OUR profession better for all of us.
Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Obbie,
What are your cost for pass privileges on the 757? When I worked for a charter company like TC they charge huge bucks to the employees to use the empty seat that was owned by the charter company. ( Signature, Red Seal and Sunquest) Kinda like the seats Air Canada owns on the Jazz Aircraft.

Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
whoever the hell Obbie is , he is a fringe, radical, lunatic, and is not representative of the Jazz pilot group. I have been with jazz for over 13 years and would rather not associate myself with his extremism

Obbie I never gave YOU permission to speak for me. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Jesus grow up people!
Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Does anyone actually know who Obbie is? ..
Call me crazy but I thought i've seen his name in the AC forum a bit? Not like that mean's anything but ... anonymous forum people. He may not actually work at Jazz .. but is a real shit disturber.
I'd like to think the majority of us would like to work toward making this industry better .. for all.

Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
The claim filed by ACPA asserting that the Jazz deal with TC was in breach of the Jets Settlement Agreement was unequivocally rejected by Teplitsky. The JSA relates to AC codeshare flying only.flyinhigh wrote:Is this true?

Further, ACPA requested in the alternative that Teplitsky rule that the JSA was no longer relevant given the changes in ownership and corporate structure post-CCAA. That argument was also summarily rejected and the relevance (and therefore jurisdiction) of the JSA will continue due to the ongoing conflict in scope language and fleet composition at AC and Jazz.
That's 2 strikes. When the Q400 decision eventually eminates from Burkett that will be the trifecta. It certainly looks like the decision to allow increased subcontracting at AC was a wise one

Who said anything about increasing the subcontracted flying? We would simply be dividing the current allowance of tier 2 flying between multiple suppliers.

Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
increased subcontracting
as in increasing the number of subcontractors
as in increasing the number of subcontractors
Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
If ACE finds that sub-contracting is in it's best interest for it's bottom line it will do more. This is the slippery slope we all keep talking about.

Right back at cha Obbie from all the Jazz pilots stuck here thanks to your progessive and united etc pilot group
Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Classic.... and after only 5 years at Jazz. How exactly does that kind of bitterness grow in such a short period?Obbie wrote:Wharrrrgarbl! edited by Sulako
When is your AC interview?
Re: ACPA grievance and the B757
Someone already answered your question regarding subcontracted flying .. but dividing the current allowance on tier 2?? .. I don't think that's correct either .. Correct me if i'm wrong, but the island flying is above and beyond the current blocking hours, and if i'm not mistaken Jazz is projecting a 5-6 percent increase from present CPA block hours next year?SilvrSurfr wrote:Who said anything about increasing the subcontracted flying? I can understand how Obbie feels, I'm going to guess he had dreams of flying for Big Red and they didn't pan out. I know a bunch of really good guys that did as well, were rejected and it had an (negative) impact on their attitudes, myself included. I know guys that have moved on to a variety of companies and are much happier.
Obbie, (or anyone) if your that sick of the politics and it's really getting to you, maybe it's time to find a new gig. Life is too short.
To the pilots on both sides of the fence who are accusing each other of foul play - you’re only perpetuating / adding to the problems.
