You seem to put a lot of effort in looking up words in the dictionary and losing sight and focus of the actual problem.
I bet you don’t even see the point here.
You could have used your head in putting your personal sensitivity aside about the rumours and comments made on this forum and clarify something you failed to provide in the first place, in a mature manner.
I am sure it might have been a part of your job to post the job ad in the first place. This is what I see: it doesn’t really say much about a manager who sits there on an online forum to announce the hiring details and process when you failed to offer informative information in the job post in the first place. You left a lot of room for speculation and rumours to float around. You have made contact with people and failed to deliver when you said you would. That was you and the organization’s doing.
Are you kidding me, you actually wasted the time to cut and past the definition of word that was miss spelled even though you understood the content of the message.
While you are at it, do me a favour and look up” responsibilities” and “maturity” and let me know how that works out for you. I will save you the insult of cutting and pasting the definition.
It doesn’t say much for an Ops Manager with that kind of maturity level.
It doesn’t say much for an organization of a start up company who apparently is a partner of a larger well established company to find themselves behind the 8 ball and put someone like yourself in the position you are in.
No wonder the organization couldn’t launch when they were suppose too. ( but yet, we blame TC base Audits. As if you were unaware of how TC works with a start up operation)
Professionals are swift with their planning, organized with their thought process, lead by example, they tend to have mastered the art and skills of being pro-active and don’t accept being reactive. all are in question through demonstration in this case.
Don’t get defensive just do your job and be efficient at it.
I have a little more respect for myself then desiring to work and get paid a bus Fare for what you consider a salary.
Good luck with your hiring and the success of the company.

Sure does look like someone can dish out criticism but can't handle it. You've got jaded written all over you, dude. Find another thread to troll.
PS consider a name change, the irony hasn't gone unnoticed.

Just from that simple post, this is what you are trying to prove from that comment whether you realize it or not about yourself.
You are the type of person who has no solid value system. You will change anything from your value system to accommodate your self- interest.
Changing my name because as you stated the irony will not go unnoticed proves that.
I don’t give a shit what goes noticed or unnoticed from my views.
I say what I mean and I mean what I say.
Changing my name proves that I am two faced and a hypocrite. In case your simple mind couldnt see that.
Your comment about taking criticism proves your inability to read and analyse a simple conversation.
This had nothing to do with taking or dishing Criticism. (From my end).
Difference between Facts and opinions are very far spread apart.
I might not be very tolerable of incompetency, and people that half -Ass their job, but I am Extremely intolerable of disrespect, And certainly people that are willing to step on their personal believes and values as you might have proven yourself to be in that category. ......... That.......... Is an opinion.
Have that conversation with someone else and find another place to exercise your brown nosing skills. Because this isn’t worth my time.

With a PhD in psychology, what the heck are you doing in the aviation industry? I'll consider myself psycho-analysed. What do I owe you?Just from that simple post, this is what you are trying to prove from that comment whether you realize it or not about yourself.

You've already proved you're a hypocrite by the following sentence:Changing my name proves that I am two faced and a hypocrite. In case your simple mind couldnt see that.
So tell me how calling me simple minded isn't disrespectful.I might not be very tolerable of incompetency, and people that half -Ass their job, but I am Extremely intolerable of disrespect
I'll be the bigger person here and get our post back on subject. What's the latest on East Coast? Since they passed their audit are they back on track? Are you guys updating your website with a new launch date?

You don’t need a PHD to know how to use your head. Give your head a shake.
Tell me what part of your original post did you offer respect?
I give respect once, and if it isn’t returned, it isn’t offered again.
What part of your first conversation with me did you offer your respect?. Do you need to be reminded of your first post to me. ??
Respect is earned its not a right. Offer it first and see what happens, you might be surprised.
Don’t throw rocks when you live in a glass home and then whine about it later.
You don’t make sense what so ever, so I am glad you are putting it to rest because I don’t have the time or the patience to babysit someone throught reading and writing.

I don't know if they are operating yet. I passed through YHZ last week and did not notice any East Coast Air presence, airplanes, ground equipment, or even ticket counters.~Hollywood~ wrote:So how was Day 1??
But I found this article online in the CB Post:
http://www.capebretonpost.com/Business/ ... -airport/1
East Coast Airways gets off the ground at McCurdy airport
SYDNEY — East Coast Airways officially launched itself into the skies over Sydney Tuesday.
The regional carrier will fly passengers to and from Halifax three times daily year round.
It’s first flight out of J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport was on Monday.
President of operations Jay Hasson said the airline is placing particular focus on the Sydney to Halifax route.
“With the pricing we thought this would be the market that we should focus on the most,” Hasson said at a brief news conference to officially launch its operations at the Sydney airport.
“We brought a little bit more convenience, we definitely brought more affordability and in this market it was more drastic than the other ones. Based on our competitors, our ticket price is the price to beat.”
He said Air Jazz has matched East Coast Airways’ low fares on some flights, adding that the presence of his company flying out of the airport will lead to more competitive rates between the two carriers in the future.
A one-day return trip leaving Sydney for Halifax today will cost a total of $471.78 when taxes and fees are added to a base price of $338 return, according to the airline’s website at www.eastcoastairways.com.
Each flight is estimated to take between 50 to 55 minutes. The airline also offers direct flights to Halifax from Yarmouth, Saint John, N.B., and Charlottetown, P.E.I.
The carrier will service the Maritimes with about 20 flights a day using five 19-passenger BAE Jetstream 31 turboprop airplanes.
He said the company is already preparing to hire another seven employees for its operations at the McCurdy airport, including a flight attendant, customer service representatives and ground handling staff.
The airline currently employs 46 people, but that’s expected to increase to 63 employees by January.
Hasson said the airline is currently operating more like a charter service because it has yet to build up its passenger capacity.
“I think we’ve had two (passengers) on some, five on others. I don’t have the numbers in front of me.
“The past two days have been a great indication of what we have here in Sydney. We’ve had a steady amount of bookings all the way through December and January.”
Cape Breton Regional Dist. 7 Coun. Jim MacLeod, a board member on the Sydney Airport Authority, greeted the discount airline with much promise.
“I think we have to look for the better deal for the people of the community,” he said. “And an airline coming in like this is going to make Air Canada sit up and take notice.”
East Coast Airways was expected to take off Nov. 1, but it was delayed when the company said paperwork hadn’t been finalized.
Passengers who had flights booked for what was supposed to be the first week of operations found seats on other airlines.
After a second operational deadline had passed last week without its planes taking to the skies, and then a couple days later an employee accidentally set the wrong date for accepting reservations on its website, the airline quietly began operating.
While Hasson said it was human error that was behind the website reservation system mishap, the series of operational delays were due to bureaucratic red tape.
“This is a highly regulated industry. It’s not uncommon (to miss deadlines) in the aviation industry. We set those goals but due to circumstances out of our control we did the best we could with those,” he said.
East Coast Airways is looking to expand its services to the U.S. northeast in 2011, Hasson noted.

Here is another East Coast Air article, this one on the CBC website:
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/st ... alcomments
It is worth reading especially because of the comments attached to it.
Here is just one of them, posted yesterday at 9:58 PM:
Funny - I was at the airport today and thought I'd check them out as I travel the maritimes frequently. But I could not find a checkin counter for them, and could not find any of their flights on the departure screens. I asked around the airport and no one knew what I was talking about, never heard of them!
I think this whole airline is a scam! I don't think it really exists at all!
Read more: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/st ... z16v4RKMs6
I looked on Flight Aware, and there was one Jetstream flight between Halifax and Sydney on Monday and another on Wednesday. Seems like very limited service, if any, has started.

Are they flying at all? I have been watching Flight Aware from time to time and I have not seen any flights at all....
Re: East Coast Airways
I'm curious also. I know they've had some challenges in getting certified by Transport. If things work out, I'll consider applying as I am from the Maritimes and there's not too many jobs out of YHZ.ehbuddy wrote:Are they flying at all? Re: East Coast Airways
East Coast Airways began full service to YQY on December 9 after delays by TC and HIAA. The current flights are operating between YQY-YHZ 2-3 times daily. The check in counters are located between Porter and Westjet at HIAA and are currently in the former WestJet counter location. Operations are utilizing a JetStream31 on the daily routes, and anticipate the next routes to open within the next 10-14 days. Typical arrivals and departures into Halifax have been operating out of gate 2B.

NS: East Coast Airways still waiting to “take off” in Yarmouth
By Carla Allen, Transcontinental Media
Source: The Vanguard, December 14, 2010
[YARMOUTH, NS] — Operators of the Yarmouth-to-Halifax air service remain optimistic despite meager ticket sales.
East Coast Airways officially began operating the route last Tuesday but did not fly because there were no bookings. The airline, which is a subsidiary of Integra Air Inc. of Lethbridge, Alberta, provides Tuesday and Thursday service.
President Jason Hasson says the company anticipated slows sales this time of year for Yarmouth, so it is “not discouraged at all.”
“We have had very strong showings in Sydney-Halifax which is very promising for long term operations,” he said.
Ticket sales have been very low for the Yarmouth-to-Halifax air service, but operators say it is something they expected in the beginning.
The Yarmouth-to-Halifax air service is still waiting to get off the ground.
Hasson says the airline will be adding aircraft and destinations in the coming weeks, which will “continue to stimulate bookings.”
“When we open our U.S. destinations we will anticipate additional market stimulation,” he said.
East Coast Airways has some intermittent bookings in Yarmouth, but not until later in the month.
Hasson will be reviewing details and planning for Yarmouth, however, there are few changes planned for the short to mid-term.

So, it sounds like someone didn't do their market research. As well, why start a route anticipating slow sales? Why not wait until you anticipate sales would pick up?The Vanguard wrote:East Coast Airways officially began operating the route last Tuesday but did not fly because there were no bookings. While I'd like to see "the boys" employed, I think they have ceased operations already. There are no signs of anybody else other than Jazz and the occasional charter flight between Halifax and the destinations they are supposed to be currently serving, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, and Saint John.
Really feel bad for all the guys who are there. Hope they get paid - this East Coast Airlines is your classic fly-by-night Canadian operation and I really believed from the start it was a sketchy proposition. For those with current J31 PPCs, give Northwestern Air, Integra Air, and Bar XH a call. There are a couple more J31/J32 operators out in BC, I think Capital City went bankrupt.
