Does anyone know if it's legal here in Canada to refuse employment to an AME becuse he or she is too old?

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal
The Tribunal's jurisdiction covers matters that come within the legislative authority of the Parliament of Canada, including federal government departments and agencies and Crown corporations, as well as banks, airlines and other federally regulated employers and providers of goods, services, facilities and accommodation.

The Act prohibits discrimination on the following grounds:

* race
* national or ethnic origin
* colour
* religion
* age
* sex (includes pay equity, harassment (applies to all prohibited grounds, not just sex), pregnancy and childbirth)
* marital status
* family status
* sexual orientation
* disability (can be mental/physical, includes disfigurement, past or present, alcohol or drug dependence)
* conviction for which a pardon has been granted.

Lets go to all the old folks homes and drag the AME's and pilot's you can find back into the work force and get the work ethic back to where it use to be. We may have to help them read and write so they can meet the safety crap requirement of today although they had a better record of there day.

That's right - you have to tell them that they "aren't likely to be a fit for the corporate culture that management is looking for in their highly valued maintenance team" or some similar line of b.s.

("highly valued" - if you're going to lie to the addict, you may as well tell a whopper)
