Airband Receiver

Post by taskforce58 »

Hi there, I've been looking to buy my first airband receiver and recently saw on the Aviation World website they are selling the Maycom AR108 for $160. What is everybody's opinion on this unit? My budget is to keep it below $200.

Hobby use, mainly to listen to ATC while spotting and during airshows (I was an IFR controller trainee, but was CTed out of CYQX). It's not for serious monitoring.
