C-GABL missing C310R found in New Bruswick . updated.
Search and rescue officials say a pilot and his plane are missing on a flight from the Montreal area to northeastern New Brunswick.
Maj. Paul Doucette of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax says the Cessna 310 left Saint-Hubert, Que., on Tuesday night but failed to arrive in Pokemouche, N.B.
A search was launched today in the Bathurst, N.B., area with a Hercules aircraft and Cormorant helicopter, but Maj. Doucette says the effort is on hold due to bad weather.
He says the search aircraft faced poor visibility with a low cloud ceiling and freezing drizzle.
The Cessna's flight plan indicated it was supposed to arrive in Pokemouche around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Maj. Doucette says the pilot is the only person on board.

Cadors Number: 2010A1267
C-GABL, Cessna 310R, was on an IFR flight from St-Hubert (CYHU) to Pokemouche (CDA4) with an estimated time of arrival of 01:57Z at Pokemouche. The last contact with the aircraft was 27 miles west of Pokemouche at 01:47Z. The aircraft is not at the destination airport. The Halifax Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) reported an ELT signal in the area (belonging to C-GABL) and is investigating.

There was a QS cold front sitting just west of Bathurst during the time the flight was to have arrived. High winds, heavy rain and freezing precip was forecasted.

Google Maps it looks to me that 27 miles West of Pokemouche Airport would put the last known location in the open waters of Chaleur Bay.

The wreckage of a missing Cessna aircraft has been found in northeastern New Brunswick.
Search and rescue officials say a Hercules aircraft spotted the wreckage at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The plane went down in a wooded area near Bertrand, about eight kilometres from its final approach to the airport in Pokemouche.
The pilot was the only person on board.
The plane left Saint-Hubert, Que., on Tuesday and was supposed to arrive in Pokemouche at about 10 p.m. that evening.
Members of the RCMP are on their way to the crash site.

U.S. registered Beech Duke N571M was also found with two deceased on board. Aircraft flew from Texas in the morning, and had to divert due to bad weather. Pilot attempted to land in the afternoon but flew into a mountain.

Ron Legault was one of the finest persons I've ever had the pleasure of knowing! I've flown with him on many ocassions and he was a first class pilot. Over 10,000 hours of flying time and the biggest percentage was with his 310r CG-ABL. I read some post on here talking about bad weather. It was a light rain and wind of 3-6 knots. Wind sock at the local airport was down. It was +5 on the ground so no ice as well. He had made his turn for his final approach to Pokemouche runway 13. In other words it just doesn't make sense. He should still have been at an altitude of 1300 feet. My sympathies to the family.
