We'd get a much better deal farming out the ground handling I'm sure. If Jazz was a stand alone airline as well it would get the ticket sales (which HAVE to be more than the rate Jazz charges) and could pick it own routes.

Lets put things in focus ... both airlines need each other, and a stand alone is a big, expensive, risky step. We're most likely stronger together then we are apart.

AC needs jazz more then they would like to believe. Yet jazz wouldn't exist without AC. So accept it as is, cause they both need each other.

I think most people realize that, yet some like to point out the "free fuel deal"
But then Jazz doesn't charge any diferently for fuel wether they are flying yul-yyz or yul-ygp, while AirCanada adjusts their mark-up.
YUL-YGP round-trip 19jan-20jan: 2600$ around 1000 km (2.6$ per km)
YUL-YYZ round-trip 19jan-20jan: 715$ around 575 km (1.24$ per km)
........ I think I'd rather be on AirCanada's end on this one.
It is called Yield Management.
