Honestly, it's probably easier and less hassle to just write the exam and get a new one. It's free after all! Go to any flight school and write it for free. You get a temporary right away and you'll get a new one in the mail in a few weeks after.
thanks for the quick helpful replies! i thought it was industry canada, but was not too sure, as i looked at their website to no avail ( can hardly navigate those gov't sites )
It's even better if you can go to a school where they know you. I've re-issued licenses in the past for unfortunates who'd lost theirs without bothering with the rigamorole of having them re-write the test.
Ahhh yes but all those designated industry Canada examiner types should now know that we CANNOT issue even temps anymore, its all must go thorough this silly Industry Canada central office thing...
So someone looking for a re issue will not get luck going to their school, you must contact industry Canada directly. I don't know what the new phone number is but call your local office and they should be able to tell you the number of the new ROC-A specific office...
well, i had the good fortune of randomly finding my original. glad i did not have to go through trying to get a new one. i think it is quite absurd that it's an industry canada issue, and not a transport canada issue, just ridiculous!

Really? TC deals with aviation, Industry Canada deals with the Radio Spectrum. It would be nice though if different departments worked together however; Radio Op Cert is good for life and every PPL needs one so it should be part of the licence 'issued for IC by TC'. Glad you found yours, but I really doubt its a 'big deal' to replace.

BUT Transport Canada could print a booklet with a page for a Radiotelephone Licence, and Industry Canada could produce a licence in sticker format.
I read somewhere (could be in COPA Flight paper) that TC approached Industry Canada to do what you suggested; but Industry Canada was not interested.

Totally irresponsible, unnecessary, dangerous, immature and reprehensible. In other words brillant!
I just phoned. Yeah it's that bad.The nice lady gave me the right number then the next nice lady told me they need a written request so I have to e-mail them anyway.
I still have my old ALTP license with the green stripe on it and back then the radio operators license was printed in red on the back side of the license.
Therefore that is just as valid as a new one.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
