Sorry I must have been misinformed. So the company's sort of pushing this out till the last minute? Aren't flights supposed to start out of the island on Feb 1st?

Yes. For once ACPA has the upper hand. Whether or not it is capitalized on in negotiations has yet to be seen. The hot rumour is that a TA will be presented very soon encompassing a contract with the scope allowance. How that will be presented to the pilot group is the million dollar question. It will still need to be ratified.
If the Feb 1st deadline passes and the company starts flying it is a gross violation of our CBA. The fur would really fly then.
Awesome.. I wish you guys the best of luck and hopefully you come out with a fantastic contract.
I would just like to see the two pilot groups look out for each other a bit more. It's not our jobs as pilots so subsidize airlines with shitty wages. People need to fly in Canada.. and if the airlines can't make money paying pilots what they deserve then they should raise ticket prices. Period. Not run around trying to find pilots that will do it for less.
On a bright note I heard you guys were quite united as a group as to not do anything more than what you'd be forced to do in the way of regional flying during our negiotiations.. thanks and if it comes to that I for one will be doing my part to make sure we do the same for you.
Hello I want to ask when the planned european pilots and training Kaptains will arrive at Toronto for the line training? Have anybody hear this or seen them? It is rumoured to be Q400 Kaptains and line training Kaptains from FlyBe/Tyrolean/Augsburg Airways. They are going to be paid big money and stay in Toronto for a few months to complete all the training up. Kanada government has approved temprary work visas and license validations. I was just in Stockholm at the sim and hear this from the crews who were training on the Q400 sim. Any infos or conformations? It is the dream of many in europe to go to Kanada and fly!

Heard a rumor that the hold up for Sky's AOC is due to the fact, the bankrupt company that the Qs came from is withholding the log books for whatever reason, so Transport won't go forward until they see the books. Anyone else hear this?
This is absolutely correct! The planes were seized illegally and the company is claiming that they still have legal ownership of the planes therefore
Sky has no rights to them.
Also, Sky's finances are not public knowledge for a reason. They are extremely DESPERATE to get the Air Canada contract. Skyservice Airlines and Skyservice Regional ARE cut from the same management team.
This is not a troll.... outside of the HydraQuebec corp and Porter cormpany there are no other Q 400 operating companies in Kanada. I saw the contract from the FyBe instructor and the line traning plan... there is not a troll with this info. I only want to know more info, that is why I am asking here on this Kanadian forum.
So, does anybody have infos?
Dan
Relax there chief. Kanada is the germanic spelling of Canada. It's not meant as an insult as the poster is probably from Austria, Germany or Switzerland and English is their second, third, fourth, etc language.

Which bankrupt company?
These aircraft came from Lynx which operated for Frontier. They both came out of bankruptcy protection in Oct 2009 after they were taken over by Republic. Lynx was then shut down and the aircraft were put up for sale.

I fly those styrofoam planes, and if I'm lucky I'll be upgraded to one with an elastic band and a propellor soon. I'll be glad to take that 767 job off your hands though.
