What a NOB!
Thought I heard it all before until yesterday afternoon...
ATC: "Jazz 3012 cleared for take-off RWY 23 contact departure 128.80 airborne"
Jazz 3012: " Cleared for take-off RWY 23 over to departure 128.80 in the air, have a nice afternoon"
ATC: "Air Canada 123Heavy taxi to position and wait, caution jet blast departing Jazz B757"
Air Canada A330 NOB: "To position behind the light twin, AC 123Heavy"
ATC: "The only light twin showing is the BE 1900 behind you..."
I couldn't resist the comment (below 80kts) "NOB !!!" (ya it might have been childish, but it sure felt good...)
P.S Our MTOW yesterday afternoon 110,300kg (245,989lbs)

Re: What a NOB!
i think "you" are not getting it. He was being sarcastic . LOL
Re: What a NOB!
I love sarcasm as much as the next guy, but it truly had a 'you're not worthy condescending tone...',
it was nice to hear the tower give it back to them though...

Re: What a NOB!
I call bullshit. AC 123 isn't a Heavy. It is an A320, YYZ-YEG.

Indeed! It's "knob". CRJ 705 is a "knob" for not doing better in spelling while at school.TyrellCorp wrote:What a "NOB" thread!

Re: What a NOB!
Are you guys kidding me with the flight number? How many flight numbers do you pros here a day at work? And you remember them all? Now I ain't no genius but I'm sure he was using flight 123 as an example to illustrate the story. Seriously guys get a life. And yes thats a douche bag move by the AC guy.
following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

Zing!
Re: What a NOB!
Heard an even better one in the YYZ CDF couple weeks ago:
An Air Transat A330 was being sprayed. Iceman had a (safety) question about something protruding from the fuselage. The comms went like this.
ICEMAN: Air Transat xxx, the deicing guys are wondering what that metal tubular looking thing is that is protruding from the nose of your aircraft.
Unknown Callsign (answered for AT): Oh that's our re-fuelling probe for trans-Atlantic flights.

Ha ha ha. So true! bringing down the industry! They'd do anything to get out of those RJ/Dashs.

Once again ignorance must be bliss in your world. No need to discuss status pay again as it falls on deaf ears.LisaS wrote:Ha ha ha. So true! bringing down the industry! You clearly do not understand the formula used to determine the rates used in the pay system at Jazz. BTW - How is that pension plan at WJ?LisaS wrote:leadfoot wrote:so you flew your 57 at dash wages huh? good job. I wouldn't be bragging about TOW just yet.

It's at the 20:20 mark or thereabouts. You hear the part about the 'light twin', but nothing after that.

Re: What a NOB!
Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?
The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Re: What a NOB!
Larger aircraft typically attract higher pilot pay rates as they generate greater revenue for the company. That increment can be paid directly to the pilots on the aircraft (equipment based pay) or shared with the entire pilot population at the airline (status pay).Cat Driver wrote:Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?
Re: What a NOB!
If that is the case than we've had the pay scales all wrong all these years.Cat Driver wrote:Is pay that is based on the size of airplanes due to the bigger the airplane the harder it is to fly?
