ya I hear it's like a reverse auction everyone says they will take the job for less money than the next guy and the lowest bidder takes it all

Sorry buddy but don't expect much constructive advice about that company on the boards. I think the only competition is finding anyone with anything close to 500 Multi to leave their job for an $18k bag-run.

I have heard that much like a couple of other companies, that you are not considered employed until you PASS the groundschool and ride. Its not a competition per say. Again, second hand info.

As with any company. You get hired, sent to ground school and flight training. If you fail to meet standards after a given amount of time then yes you are let go. Why would this be any different from any job for that matter?

And no they do not over hire, if you get a job offer then you get to go to ground school and do flight training.

for FO on the metro's pretty sure 1000TT is competetive if it is real world IFR time. If it's instruction time you have, well, maybe that would not be the top of the pile. But sometimes it's more who you know, and not what you know, so what do I know?

I've heard a lot of roasting about pay and conditions at Carson...How much do they actually pay on the metro? anyone know for sure? heard it was something like 21k, but i could be wrong...even so, that's brutal, i mean, even CMA pilots make a fortune compared to that!

If you want to fly an airplane that will expedite your hearing loss by 25 years, go here www.perimeter.ca . At least they pay a livable wage.

A former colleague of mine went to carson for a metro FO ground school. There were 8 people in his class to start. 4 on day two and he ended up being the only guy to come back for the last day. Not because it was 'competitive' but because people figured out the sched on day one and pay on day two. Its a shame that my buddy was just recently laid off and needed work... but who knows? poggey probably could have been more and his fo salary...

I don't work there but hear the schedule is Mon - Fri, 12-14 hour duty days, stat holidays. Weekends off. Average about 60 hrs/month. This is for YYC at least...

per quarter?

And what does Perimeter pay nowadays? Back in the 90s when I was in the area, their FOs were lucky if they made $1000/month.

$19 000 for a Metro FO on a Mon-Fri Sched 12-14 hours a day?

?

That works out to around $6 an hour!!! what a JOKE. I am tempted to write a very nasty letter to the managers at Carson Air telling them they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Not to mention this is not Regina, this is Calgary...one of Canada's most expensive cities to live in.
