I remember once when I was there I asked what a certain machine was for, it was the one that check for ear canal blockage, the nurse said that they used it mostly to give FA's the okay to go back to work. I took it at the time, with the tone of the voice to mean, to call bullshit and send them back to work. I guess now there's no FA's based there, the office was one less cost required. Anyhow, I'm glad Dr. fogul is still around, been going to him for at least 10 years.
I have informed him of everyone's overwhelming support for him and that retirement would not the best idea.He reassured me that there is possibly a Dr.Fogul Junior in the works.

I have 3400h, 1100h on the Dash and didn't get called so their must be some pretty good looking resumes out there.
Anyway, wish you guys the best of luck for the interview, I have numerous friends there and they all seem to enjoy it!

What kind of recent interview experiences have those who've been through it had?

Re: Interview
Atpilot, I apologize on behalf of all professional pilots for the imature responses from one of my colleagues. It varies, but I think most people walk out of the interview unsure of how it went, they don't give alot to go on. For me the process went quite fast, sim a week after the interview, medical 10 days later, orientation 2 weeks after that. I have heard that it can take awhile to find out how the interview went and even if it takes a month it doesn't mean you didn't make it, could just mean they had some higher time or stronger candidates they want to get thorugh 1st. I'm sure it's painful waiting, I can only imagine because the 10 days after the sim was excruciating. Good luck
Edited; Sorry atpilot, went back an read your previuos posts, you have plenty of time and your interview is today. So, your questions are to see what to expect after the interview. With your time, providing your interview goes well, I would expect something similar to my experience, maybe quicker. The need to hire and get pilots on line for summer, means they need to speed up the process. I know in the past some have said they require a months notice for thier current employer, I wouldn't give anything more than 2 weeks notice, less if possible, it could mean the difference of reserve on holding a block.

I really didn't take any offence. Sometimes you have to take things tongue in cheek. No harm done. I've beem sarcastic on a few occassions, just ask any of my previous flight students or my wife. I do however appreciate any feedback from this whole process. I know it can be frustrating for everyone who's going through it. Thanks for your post, it answers alot of my questions. Good Luck to all of us!mbav8r wrote:Atpilot, I apologize on behalf of all professional pilots for the imature responses from one of my colleagues. Good luck to all. I got turned down. So either I'm over-qualified or the interview wasn't good.

Re: Interview
I wouldn't sweat it. HR people have hundred or even thousands of resume's to filter through. On my WJA interview, the HR person asked, "Why are you here today?" My response, "Well, I've been qualified for 10 years and have had my resume in with you for equally long. You finally called."Buzz Lightyear wrote: I have 3400h, 1100h on the Dash and didn't get called so their must be some pretty good looking resumes out there.

Re: Interview
Atpilot, Stockholm,
Don't take no for an answer and keep applying. You may have been turned down this time but you could make it the next. Most of the big airlines give you another chance later on.
And who knows maybe something else is on the way....
Take care

I'm at 2700 hours with ATPL. No call back for me yet. I'm guessing I'm still considered low time for Jazz.
What does it take to get noticed there?
Hey BE20. I got called and eventually offered a position with the exact time you are speaking about. I know there are guys with lots more time than this but also guys getting called with lots less. I have heard of some getting inteviews with 2000hrs. Just a waiting game until you hear back.

Re: Interview
That's encouraging. Still, I can't figure out why the guys with less time are getting noticed. More correctly, I can't figure out why my application isn't getting noticed. I'm as up to date as can be on their website (I've had an application going for over a year).
Re: Interview
Are you 100% sure you have applied to the specific pilot posting...? A friend of mine who thought he had his application up to date realized his file was under a general section. Once he corrected the mistake he got a call within a few days...BE20 Driver wrote:That's encouraging. Still, I can't figure out why the guys with less time are getting noticed. Good luck! It also helps to have an internal reference who can put a nice word for you...

Re: Interview
BE20, You mentioned thier website, the reason I ask is because back when I was applying, my application was on the Air Canada site. When I applied, the application asked which companies I wanted to apply for and to check them off. So I selected Air Canada and Jazz thinking that the only reason they asked was because they shared the applications, being they both were owned by ACE. Long story short, after about a year and a half of watching and hearing about people getting on with Jazz, I asked a co-worker who had just returned from his interview with Jazz, "why would they call you and not me?" He had half the time I had, so it got me thinking I was being blackballed or something. Anyway, he says, "I don't know, I just applied on workopolis and they called me a week later"
I said,"WTF is workopolis?" So I applied on the correct website that Sunday and recieved a call Monday morning, for an interview on Wednseday.
Just went and looked, I guess we're not using workopolis anymore. Like the poster above me said, make sure you applied for the specific job listing, I had to search through to find it, on page 3, I believe. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to re-apply with a new profile, just a thought. Good luck

Re: Interview
I applied directly through their website. I have previously received emails from Jazz when they announced the postings. I have added the specific job posting to my cart, however, at the top where you can see the sign in my job cart shows as 0 items. When I search on the pilot job, it asks me if I want to view or edit my submission. I believe I have everything set up properly.
I have a couple of internal recommendations and I just found out that someone here with less time than I have was called for an interview. Maybe I'll try another profile just in case.

Re: Interview
I would absolutely set up a new profile. Don't sit back hoping it works out- do all you can. Hiring a hundred pilots. You don't want to be at the back of that pile. I've said it before: one class difference could mean 20 (or more) seniority numbers in the snap of the finger.
Re: Interview
Keep on it, its true they have 90 spots to fill. Once you have successfully applied to the position advertised on Taleo, you will know it. If you arent sure, could be that youve missed something. As soon as you sign in, 'Completed Submissions' appear directly below on the 'My Submissions' tab (in this case, as per Job Number: TBD-2011-581-003864).
From my meager and fairly un-informed position, they are filling the ranks as fast as they can get people through successful interviews (which equates to being prepared for the questions they ask you, and being someone that the interviewers feel good about (particularly the pilot(s) on the panel) and would dare commit to a multi-day pairing with. No database comparisons with other candidates interview scores (at least not in the 'batch hiring' sense), simply yes/no, then book sim dates, then fill up ground schools.
On to the sim! Stoked
