Time To PFO or Offer

What have people been seeing recently for Time from interview to either PFO or offer of employment?

14 weeks or so since interview. I'm under a contract with current employer so I need quite a bit of advanced notice before I can accept an offer of employment. Not sure if that has played into it or if my writing is so illegible that they don't know where to send my PFO letter. Are you in the same boat?

Last time around, I heard anything from 3 weeks to 14 weeks. Generally, no news was good news.

Two weeks today and counting.... running home to make sure nothing is in the mailbox!

I was told that interviews are reviewed by the panel once every 10 business days then any applicants that get through should be contacted within another 10!

Although it is obvious that we need to hire (high DMM, low reserve coverage, continued retirement, expansion with 787s and rumoured other 777/767s) I think the process has been stagnated somewhat as the company tries to get a handle on the impact of the returning/staying retirees in the immediate and short term future and what the legal outcome will be. The last wave of hiring was similar in that there was only a trickle of hiring until the training infrastructure was firing on all cylinders. Then it was a tsunami of new hire course dates.

A slow response is nothing personal. There are many outside variables that play into it. Every day that passes with no PFO is a good thing.

Despite what you read here, it is a fantastic job that we are working on making better for existing and pilots entering the company.

Offers seem to be going out between 2 and 3 weeks before ground school starts. The big question is when is the next one? Rumours say March is looking good... hang in there!

Assuming one is successful with the interview, how long are most people waiting between their interview and when they receive a call for a medical?

Also, anyone have any rumours on groundschool dates for March/April?

Interviewed near the end of March, so just past the dreaded 14 days. Like yourself, I want the job very badly and I think I was able to convey this point in the interview process, but they did mention that the separate hiring committee that makes decisions is slow and that it could take 4-6 weeks on average.

Most of my colleagues that have been the unfortunate recipients of the PFO have gotten the letter 2-4 weeks. There seems to be 2 sides to the camp. One side that says "NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS", and the other that says " YOU NEED TO BE CALLED FOR A MEDICAL WITHIN 14 DAYS".

I think both of those sides are irrelevant right now, as the New Pilot Agreement has to be voted upon before any more new-hires are assigned.
