TORONTO— Jack Layton’s three-hour surgery on his left hip went “extremely well,” according to officials at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital who say the NDP leader will remain in hospital for "three to five days." Doctors took advantage of the opportunity to also try to transplant a sense of humour to Mr. Layton from a recently deceased carnival worker who perished over the weekend in Climax, Saskatchewan during a bizarre agricultural accident.

Heck, when I saw the title I thought it was to separate him from Ignatieff and Duceppe so they can campaign separately.
