We will be haivng a drink for ya guys..........
Hey guys.....
regardless of what happened I think we can all just wait a few days before pointing fingers........
And as for who it was.........
********
I have edited this, seeing as people are concerned, However I was informed by family members so I thought this would be a prudent place to let the people I haven't been able to get a hold of know..... seeing as it may be a better place than on the news, however I guess some people do not agree.....
One person was on old VFT Grad
while the other was from Can West
I unfortunately did not know the fellow from Can west but I did know the person from VFT quite well.
IF there is anyone out there from VFT give me a pm or a call
- Pat McFadden "Franky"
********
****was an old buddy of mine, We flew down to the Bahamas to build time for our IFR a few years ago....
I unfortunately never met ***** but I understand he used to work with Can West on the ramp at YYJ
(Edited), JC
But ya, can we just wait a week or so before we start making comments on what they should have done etc....
We dont know all the facts as of yet, and If friends dont know, it may be better for them to find out in a somber atmosphere than in some aggressive shit storm of name calling.......

I was flying over YQQ this am and heard nothing of the incident till I landed. Flew back in the afternoon and saw the wreckage. They were so close to making it back.... I hate when this sorta things happen especially to see how close they were to making it. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

I worked for the first two years of my A.M.E. apprenticeship at Navair. Some of the best people I've ever met. My absolute compasion for everybody that is effected. We work and study very hard to keep A/C in the air and when accidents happen it touches every maintenance persons heart. Deepest condolensenceses for everyone in the industrie. I didn't know the two pilots, but the lost feels like it could of been my best friend. When I go to work monday, 3000 miles away from Victoria I will not forget. I'm going to make sure that any a/c that any pilot fly's that I fixed can fly in peace knowing that I did everything that day with his or her's life in my mind. Never take for granted that we do fly and we pilots and A.M.E'S need to be diligent every day. Please don't fly because you feel pressured, when you shouldn't and I'll alway's fix A/C so you can fly with peace of mind. Let's prevent the next accident.
Damn I still feel ill.
It makes me so sick because NavAir is one of those companies that have given so many pilots their 'break'. Guys and Gals who would put-in a few years logging that valuable multi-IFR time and then move on to bigger and better things!
As 'airtids' said, "Aviation- the hardest way possible to make an easy living!"

Re: My sincere condolences
Editted to remove the quoted inapropriate and ill-timed remark JC
Why dont you get off your self righteous soap box, nobody gives a rats ass what the airplanes look like, they are flying freight, do you think it cares? Do you have exact information as to the maintenance records of Navairs equipment - I doubt it.

Regarding the last 2 posts... (of beentheredonethat and NFA)
You two are not in the correct forum. Go to one of the other editted forums ok? Clearly you do not understand what this one is about. Imagine you wake up tomorrow and 2 of your friends have died a painful death before breakfast. Do me and all the others who understand the gravity of loosing a friend or family member to a horrible accident a favor and go someplace else to express your feelings of a particular company. Do not say that your heart goes out to the family you charlatans, then with the next breath say that it was what they deserved. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking of what happened this morning. Would you say something like that directly to me if you were standing in front of me? I have a feeling you'd have a little more tact...

AND you can work on my machine any time.
My heart goes out to everyone close to these two pilots.

As you may have gathered, this thread went quickly off the rails.
Two members of our profession died. A little decorum when making posts is therefore important.
Death is becoming more of a rare event in our business, and a good thing.
Statistically, if you are a pilot, miner, or forestry worker, you will, over the course of your career, encounter the death of your peers.
Obviously, when it does, emotions run high. We all understand that. I've lost friends I thought were going to live forever. Clearly in this instance this has just happened to members of this forum.
There are times, and places. when it is appropriate to express feelings other than shock, sorrow, and sympathy. Here, and today... is not the time.

JC, once again, thanks for your efforts. Surprisingly dark day in BC considering the sun is shining...
