extended engine mount
Anyone have info on the extended beaver engine mount,does it fly faster,get off the water better,is it to nose heavy,etc.?

Yes, no, Yes.
It also makes it much easier to fly at gross weight and keep it within C of G. (on floats) Not sure how it would affect ground handling on wheels or skis. As far as I am aware there are two extension kits, one moves the nose forward 11 inches the other about 6? Speed increases of 5 to 10%. You will most likely have to burn off your front tank first with the extended nose.

It is nose heavy when empty but I never ran out of trim, and that was on the 4900 floats.
For a short trip you could fill the middle and put your reserve in the front and you had plenty juice.

1)ac throttle time from application to float on step time reduced by half. 2)faster climb rate.3) increased cruise speed.( no need for cruise flaps.5)(favourite)easier maintenenance!
